.... They offered me the free year to stay but it just depends whether Sky will honor the free period really?....

Sky have no choice - if you agree to accept the offer in return for staying with them12 month, then it's a contract, binding on both sides.

The fact that Sky take over the other sides responsibilities makes no difference.

(But if they fail the responsibilities, then that breach would allow you to get away.)

But aren't you cutting your noses off even contemplating paying to get out when they will effectively pay you to stay with them another year?

    Yes this does seem sensible.

I see you got the deal on your legacy product. Were you in contract or out?

Yes sky have to honour that contract as well. If they break it you can walk for free.

I'm not doing anything at the moment, just going to wait and see. If sky say I need a sky line for BB then I'll leave, however believe this would be a breach of the service provision I agreed to so I could ask them for compensation.

I think not much will change that quickly, maybe 6 months at least before it does.

Yes I thought I'd remembered you posting coming to the end of your deal around the time I renewed mine in December.

I'm tempted to phone up although the O2 mobile attached for my discount is not my own. Not that that should matter as it was encouraged by O2 themselves.

That won't matter at all. Your friend will get a pleasant surprise!

Quite happy with that as she will get a little windfall.

So I was(or am) on 6 months free and then 6 months from June/July at £9.50.

Accepting the new deal would see me paying nothing from now till March 2014?

If you have a static ip address and/or on a fastpath profile with O2 then pretty sure you could as Sky don't do either of these. Even the devil's spawn (aka Talktalk) offers such options :p
    Yes they do.

The mobile on my bill had to be paid for me to qualify for free the credit.
It's my daughter's phone but we pay.
