TTC40: I bet it'll be a lovely surprise for your friends xx

I'm feeling a bit scared, I started bleeding yesterday. It wasn't pouring out but enough to worry me. Also had lots of pains. I have been resting as OH felt I had been overdoing it lately. I might phone MW but there isn't really anything that can be done or anyway of telling if I am pregnant still :(

Hello there - sorry you're going through this, how far on are you? I've had bleeding in two pregnancies, both times I called the EPU/went to A&E (as instructed by NHS direct). They did a blood test for hcG levels and then I was referred for a scan. They were also concerned that it might be ectopic, hence the scan in one case.
You're right that there's nothing that can be done other than rest, but this might give you an idea of how things are going either way.

Really hope it turns out OK.

Hope you're ok kscarlett. I had some light bleeding/staining in the 2ww and have had some heavy discharge since. Give the midwife a call but I'm sure it's nothing x

Kscarlet - I had bleeding at just over 5wks - just once when I went to the loo and I rested after for 3 days and was ok. I called midwife who said it could be an implantation bleed, she thought the pain I was getting could be my uterus stretching. Try not to worry - hopefully this is just a reminder that we have to take it easy now. Xxx

Kscarlett I also had a small bleed at 6 weeks. Scan was fine and it was explained as implantation bleeding.

I know how worried you must feel. Maybe give epu a call?

Hi all, hope evryone is well. Sorry I've been mia for ages, work type stuff keeping me insanely busy.

Morning sickness is really kicking my !!! this time round. It is constant, and no let up. I really, really hope it passes soon. I didn't have it with my DD and it's horrendous!

Sounds like lots of good news and successful scans. I won't try and read the past few weeks that I've missed! Welcome to the newly pregnant ladies :)

10+4 here and scan in a week and a half. We were toying with getting a private reassurance scan as we had one with DD at 10+1, but I think we'll just try and hold out til 12 weeks. We did have an early scan at 6+6 so I think that is why we will wait, and save ourselves £80 :)

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter break x
  • Happy Easter every one. ... quick question can you dye your hair In the first 12 weeks .... someone told me you shouldn't as it may not take properly x

My hairdresser wouldn't highlight my hair until I was 16 weeks (and then the method she used meant that the bleach didn't touch my scalp) - the chemicals can be absorbed into the skin on the scalp - but you will read conflicting advice on the net.

Personally I would try and stay away if you can from hair dye if it touches your scalp - could you have highlights or lowlights whereby the dyes didn't come into contact much with skin (eg. foils)???

I've cancelled my hair appointment to have my hair dyed. I don't think it's worth the risk. My roots are gonna be horrendous!
