TTC.. I am 17 weeks and obviously I know, OH, DS1 and DD1 know and the lady who does my nails.. we haven't told anyone else, none of our parents, nor siblings nor the other children.. and I am the size of a house. I in fact lied to OHs sister when she asked me about 4 weeks ago if I was pg I just said no in a really offended tone.

Might have to tell a couple of friends next week as we are away with them overnight & I have already had a night out with them when I had a 'migraine' so was driving. This time we are in a hotel so will be difficult to hide - harder than on a week's holiday!

Whilst they are really good friends, I can't help but feel a bit guilty as there are a couple of other friends I would rather tell first (but won't see them before next weekend). I think I just need to get over this & not worry!

TBH I want to just keep this a secret forever from all but our closest friends & def don't want any big facebook style announcements. I think this is just in case things don't work out (not that I've got any past history to indicate this) as I wouldn't want 'everyone' to know.

Hope everyone is safe & warm - being pg is a great excuse not to have to do any snow clearing!

I am similar. I've told my parents but want to tell everyone else in my own time (12 weeks or way beyond) and will be asking all that I do tell to keep it off facebook if possible. I like facebook for lots of reasons, but never did a big announcement on there last time (in fact I think the first time I mentioned it was when I did the birth announcement) and don't want to again.

We have, on the other hand, told our 2 year old, who may spill the beans (if he remembers) so the above efforts could be futile...:)

Hi everyone, have been away for a while but just checking in now. So sorry to hear sad news from lily and NCSmummy, hugs to you both.

Had my booking appointment this morning at the hospital, was really reassuring and found out I will have a community midwife near where I live which saves trekking to the hospital each appointment. I am a little worried that all my pregnancy symptoms mysteriously disappeared this week but I guess that could all change next week! Anyone else experienced this?!

My symptoms come and go, TBH. They go and (when I notice) I have a bit of a panic. Then they come back and I feel rotten (I wish I'd made the most of my "well" time!). How far along are you?

I'm 10+5. Strangely I had the worst experience of MS on the tube to work on Monday, had to get off twice as I thought I was going to throw up! Then nothing really apart from the odd wave of nausea since Monday night. Midwife says it just comes and goes differently for everyone. Hope that's true!
  • Im 13 wks today and still very few people know mainly because of the lovely reaction i got from two brother in laws and my younger sister who seem to think that it wrong that i am breeding :( Its my 4th baby (5th pregnancy) I am married yet its wrong that i should breed. Im only 30 two weeks off 31.
All three members that are being horrible have children themselves.
Still suffering dreadful morning sickness :(
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

Is anyone else having an issue with how things taste?
I've just made a roast dinner and it tasted awful to me - sausages tasted "flowery" and "off", veg of nothing and unappetising and meat was just bland. OH ate it and thought it was fine. LO didn't eat much, but he never tends to eat anything I've made...
When we go out for food it always tastes fine, so I'm not sure where the problem is.
All I want to eat at the moment is junk but I know that's no good as it'll send my blood sugar up the wall and isn't very healthy with all the additives etc.

Is it just me? Am I just a rubbish cook?? Will it ever end??

    Hi Betty

I'm exactly the same, the only thing that tastes relatively ok to me at the moment is junk food of any sort :o really struggling with eating without feeling sick and just can't face cooking; OH has had to do it all over the last couple of weeks :D Again with takeaway or restaurant food I'm fine. Weird but also frustrating!

Hope everyone is feeling relatively ok today?

I got my doppler today and after much perseverance and patience finally found the heartbeat! Faint and moved a lot but managed to get a quick recording on the laptop :T only 10 + 4 so wasn't expecting much. The doppler is an angelsounds mini which says not for use before 14-16 weeks but I am a stubborn mare and was determined :o:o calculated the hb and it was around 167 which I believe is ok so feeling quite reassured now but worried that I will become addicted to the doppler in the next few weeks!!! Oh well only 12 days until scan date :)

Hugs to those feeling rough; I felt awful earlier on and then started blubbing in Tesco because I couldn't look at the food without feeling sick :o such fun!

Have a good evening ladies (and gent) and keep warm xx
First baby due October 2013 :j

Its not just taste with me everything smells funny too :( meat smells and tastes revolting.
According to what ive read up its our bodies way of keeping us safe. However i really dont think my OH is trying to poison me at least i hope not even if i am a sicky, grumpy, moody, tired, hormonal mess :rotfl:

Me too - on the food thing! I am basically living off toast! I dont feel sick at all - its just I dont want anything else and definately dont want any strong tastes.
Seeing my midwife for booking in appt first thing Monday - at least that will get me into the system for scan etc.
I havent really got any pregnancy symptoms at all - except for tiredness and the bland food thing... Was like this on 2 previous pregnancies (both girls) so Im thinking same again :)
