Lily - so sorry about your scan. Really hoping things start to look more positive later in the week.

Edit: Also, is she going to weigh me?! I weighed myself recently and I think I have put on about 10lb in the last 2 months - I am not normally this heavy but I think it's the combo of water weight, general swelling up (I have a fat tummy now, never had a flabby tum before!) and only being able to stomach bland food like bread and crisps (used to eat a lot of salads before!) I'm so nervous about what she is going to say!

They weighed me - I was horrified to discover I've put on 10kg since Christmas . She didn't make any comment though, which I was grateful for because I felt bad enough...

I had a call from the EPU asking me to go in for a scan after my trip to A&E last night. All looks OK, but they did find a bleed (measuring 25x10x57mm :() so I need to go back in 10 days. I'm not sure what I can do about this, or what might have caused it, or even what will happen if it gets worse, so I'm still a little worried, but more relieved that everything's OK at the moment.

My BMI is higher than 35 (quite alot more :() but MW didn't mention taking extra folic acid - she did mention to go on the pregna care vitamins though

So far (WI tonight though) i have only put on 2lb - which considering the c**p i have been eating (or trying to) isn't too bad

My stomach however looks like i have put on at least 1 stone!

The top part of my stomach is rock hard most of the time - & goes straight out from under my boobs (always used to gradually taper out :rotfl:) i'm surprised no-one at work has guessed yet!

Scan on Thursday - getting nervous & excited - I will be happy when it is over so i don't have to keep secrets anymore & for DH to (fingers crossed) stop worrying

Question for everyone - has your partner gone 'off' baby making just because you have 'made' a baby already & is afraid of 'hurting' baby?

Nope, keeps pestering me for more and more. By the evening though I'm just not up for it as i'm huge with gas and food, and tired after running after the DD's and obviously because of the pregnancy.

He has to try to catch me in the morning, which he knows never to wake me ;) :rotfl:

Midwife was fine, nothing for me to be nervous about of course. Didn't weigh me or take blood. Need to make a sep appointment to have blood taken. Thanks for the words of reassurance all.

I told her about my various aches and pains and she said it's all part of making a baby, nothing to worry about. Made me feel a bit more relaxed.

Was told about the various freebie Bounty packs I need to get, but I'm gonna wait til after my scan just in case.

Yeah, very snotty at the moment and keep needing to blow my nose at night. Annoying isn't it? I don't feel quite like I've got a cold though, just snotty (lovely!).

A little bit, yes. We are both nervous and coupled with me feeling most nauseous at night it's not really happening very often. I'm sure it is safe though, and I think once the "evening sickness" wears off it'll be back to business as usual ;)

No sign of pregnancy other than a thick uterine lining, although at 15mm it's not really thick enough for dates.

Having yet more bloods, results dependent another scan on Friday.

    Beyond distraught.

So sorry to hear that Lily - how many weeks did you think you were? Is ther any hope? Must be some if seeing you again on Fri?

Thinking positive thoughts for you Sweaty Betty x

Hi Sophiasmum, its offered by 'this is my', but I think they only cover the North, not sure where you live and whether someone else does it if you don't live in the North. I'm sure it is available elsewhere though.

You also need to check out the ariosa harmony test, this is the non invasive diagnostic test that will 99.9% predict DS but for a (eye watering) fee. If you don't want to be in the position of getting a positive result and then need an amnio this is for you. Its not been on the market long so not many places offer it but it is available if you search/ are prepared to travel to a clinic.

Personally I think the combination of these two tests is the least worrisome way to screen for downs, but if you end up needing both you will pay through the nose! Gosh it is expensive being a worrier!

I wish I could be like I was in my first pregnancy, I just decided early on that the odds for DS at 500:1 based on age meant it wasn't worth worrying about, so I didn't for the entire remainder of the pregnancy. Although its easy to say that now knowing that he was fine.

HCG levels have gone down by 60 since last Tuesday so this is it for me. I'm on my way to the hospital now as they wanted me to go in straight away.

    I am beyond distraught.

I can only wish you all the very best for your pregnancies. Take care.
