  • Thank you :D aw I'm going to have to move on to the next thread now!!!! I'll miss you all!!

Oh by the way one interesting thing my brother told me today, there's something called the nub test which apparently you can use from your 12 week scan pictures to find out the sex of your baby, and apparently it's ridiculously accurate!

Hoping I've put this link in right http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2009/06/03/nub-theory-baby-gender-prediction-at-12-weeks/

OH and I did it just now and you can't see a really clear 'nub' in ours but if what we think we've found in one is a possible 'nub' then we now both reckon we could be having a girl :)

  • Great news that you both had lovely scans mysecretalias and chelseablue. x
  • so glad for the ladies who had good scans today :)

had my booking in appointment today it was pretty underwhelming! asked me lots of questions, gave me my notes and told me to fill quite a few parts out myself. she didn't even take bloods or anything, I'll go back in 2 weeks for that. can't wait for the scan just to check if everything's okay.

I was surprised at how much she talked about breast feeding, for such an early appointment.

I had all of that at mine though and it surprised me as well. The midwife was asking whether I was intending to breastfeed and stressing the benefits if I do, it's even a section on your medical notes that they have to tick to confirm they've talked to you about it!

Well, this is a first. Been awake since 3. Been waking at 3 every morning for the past week, eating a ginger biscuit and going back to sleep. Not today! Tried to get back to sleep for 2 hours, gave up and came downstairs and ate a banana. Hopefully that will be enough to shut up my stomach so I can get back to sleep. It's Saturday for crying out loud, one of the few days I can actually sleep late!

Great to hear the good news from those who had scans today!

For the bath temps, from what I've researched, it's more important later on during pregnancy because the baby is inside and cannot dissappate any extra heat, so while you feel ok, baby may be too warm. It seems though that most of the time in later pregnancy, women don't want *that* hot of a bath anyway, as their bodies are making more heat anyway, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. If in doubt, turn it down a bit, but where it's still comfy, and have a cold glass of water within reach!

At my booking in appointment, they assumed I'd be going into hospital to have the baby. Not if I can help it I won't! I have a bad feeling that I'm in for a fight to get a home birth...

That sucks, same as happened to me this morning but not as early. Been awake since about 6am and can't get back to sleep :( although my silly OH left the heating on all night so I think that's what woke me up :(

We've got a busy day today as well so I doubt I'll get a nap later. We've got to go into town this morning as my OH is due his phone upgrade (and is ridiculously excited about it) and we've got to get a few other bits as well as food for the week. Then this afternoon we are going to a nearly new mums market to see if we can start getting some cheap stuff for baby. Then after that we've got two phone calls to make to our close friends to tell them :D we wanted to do it in person but they live in Portsmouth and are rarely ever free for us to go down there so they'll just have to settle for a phone call instead!!

Yay for great scans chelseablue and mysecretalias.

We have gone public over the last couple of days, and told the rest of the family and friends, I've also told the rest of my work colleagues-it is all very surreal! My mum told one of her friends yesterday who I have bumped into a few times recently and her respose was "Yes, it is quite obvious with the weight she has put on" Erm, thanks, not.

I had a bra fitting the other day-for anyone in the Glasgow area I can highly recommend Jo, I have known her for years and she comes to the house to measure and fit bras. I paid £30 for a bra in Bravissimo a couple op weeks ago and have only worn it once as it was so uncomfortable.

Mrs_T_M-I hope you get to catch up with your sleep, I am usually waking at 4ish these days and not getting back to sleep, it has been really hard at work!

I was talking about the nub theory at work yesterday, a quick look at my pics indicate a girl I think, so will wait and see!

Thank goodness it's the weekend and I have no plans today :)

As that's me 12 weeks today I'll go and introduce myself on the 12-24 week thread and look forward to seeing you there soon xx
  • Good morning all. Congratulations to all the ladies who have had their scans.
HUGE congratulations to Wangdoodle! I really hope the next eight months will be smoother for you. I think we must have similar due dates.
I had my doctors appointment the other day and have been referred to the local maternity unit. I just have to wait to hear back from them. It may be a few weeks as I am only 5+1.
    Love to all. X
