Thanks everyone! Getting a bit nervous now, but being distracted by the house move whirlwind at least!!!
robotsindisguise - hope you are better today, update us when you can.
chelseablue - I have some friends who have massive fertility issues and find every unexpected "announcement" on FB really painful so we have decided not to do that (because we never know how many other people are keeping their TTC problems secret). We will try and tell most people individually as time goes on.
mysecretalias - my friend who is 21 weeks swears by H&M maternity tights and leggings. Not been myself so can't comment on price (maybe check their website?). Do Primark do a maternity range for basics?
The only thing I've bought so far is a pack of 2 maternity bras from M&S for £30 - EEEK! They feel HUGE too (in the way they look, they actually fit me really well) even though only 1 cup size up from my normal! Not showing in any way anywhere else yet x.0 -
What time is your scan tomorrow becsxxx?
Good luck and try not to get too stressed with the house moving!0 -

Would welcome any ideas of where to buy maternity leggings and/or tights? So far I've only found tights in Mothercare at £10 a pair  but I had to bite the bullet and buy two pairs because I couldn't stand it any longer! I literally ran to the toilet at work afterwards and put them straight on!
Then today I found maternity leggings in New Look and they were 2 pairs for £15 which was slightly cheaper but I haven't tried them on yet so they could be awful....lol
I've got some new look ones, really comfy but do seem to come up quite high to start with!

Cllolla I am wearing those sickness bands as I type.... Have been wearing mine for 5 weeks now and I have to say in my experience I don't think they've made any difference - but I still daren't take them off in case they are lol!
I will definitely check h&m out for maternity. I went into primark the other day and asked someone about maternity clothes and tights and the guy said the only thing they do is jeans (which looked horrid). This was the croydon branch as well which is fairly big so I don't know if they do maternity stuff.
Still haven't tried the new look leggings on. Got home and got straight into bed, from where I am currently typingOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
Hello all
Not much to report. I'm getting a little impatient! I feel like i've known i've been pregnant for AGEEESSS as we were TTC so took a test on the day of my missed period. That was over 6 weeks ago and still have to wait 2 weeks for a scan!
No one has been told they are having multiples yet! Would anyone prefer to have more than one at once?
My auntie had twins and she said she thinks it was easier to complete the family she wanted all at once.
We've known since 10/10, booking appt is 11/11, and scan won't be until the beginning of December (for the 12 week one anyway).
Twins run in my family, and I have a suspicion I'm carrying two, but I really don't want two at once, especially not as a first pregnancy!I have been eating rubbish too - mainly because it's all i can manage to keep down. a handful of doritos for breakfast and 2 custard creams for lunch, that kind of thing! I wouldnt worry too much, it's more important that you eat whatever you can right now and drink enough. When you are feeling better and more energised it's easier to start thinking about 'proper' food. I can't wait until that day comes for me because at the moment i feel really sick at night so haven't eaten a proper evening meal for weeks!
We decided that since I'm pregnant, I'm going to try to maintain my weight instead of gain because of the baby, and I'm going to try to do little things to get my energy up after the first trimester is over.
I'm thinking about having a grilled cheese and fish finger sandwich with some tomato soup for dinner.
Now I just need to figure out a way to keep my hands and feet warm without 20 layers and the heat going full blast all the time! I am freezing!!!0 -

Fair enough, I guess I just mean try not to be too hard on yourself in these first few hard weeks!
How about a hot water bottle if you have one?0 -

Don't have one unless you count the squirmy bunnies that don't really like being held! :rotfl:
The contractor came and measured for our new front and back doors today, so hopefully the landlord is finally getting around to replacing them! I really really hope that she replaces the windows shortly after replacing the doors as well. Right now we have single glazing and the wind howls straight through them, no matter how tight we close them. We are between two other houses though, so that helps a bit. We try to keep our heat on 15C, so if it reaches 14C it will click on for a bit. I do tend to turn it up to 18C for an hour or two at night to get the living room and our bedroom a bit warmer though.0 -

Thanks clolla - it's at 2.20pm.
It is stressful, but at least it's distracting as well! Believe it or not, I've also got a client do tonight I can't get out of either, so it will be a late one!.0 -
Hello ladies, Thank you so much for your well wishes. I havnt had any spotting for 24 hours now. I had some twinges again last night so that was reassuring. They are mostly in the same place, on my left, but there were a few on the right too. I checked my app and these last few days would have been "yellow for ovulation"...so I wonder if that could be a reason?
Ive been with family all day today, so wasnt able to reply but did check mse so saw some of your kind messages. it was hard not to say something but knowing I had your support was v helpful really! (sappy moment! Sorry!)
I managed to not lug any furniture and was fed lots of cake... I'm so glad they didn't cook liver and onions! I don't know how I could have refused it! It was chicken instead, even if I did feel queezy it was fine. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
