Congratulations samtoby! ! So so pleased for you and I hope to see you on the next thread soon x
Mysecretalias I think we are exactly same stage of pregnancy? I had my "12"week scan last Thurs at 9 weeks and 6 days because they calculated off my lmp. It was too early (though fab to see) so im going ba ck at 12 weeks plus 5...we dont get tbe nuchal fold test in my area its a bog standard normal scan.
Welcome to the rush of newly pregnant people0 -
Thank you everyone. Baby dust to all and see you very soon xx3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

absolutely shattered today! 11 hour day with no real break followed by grocery shopping. can't wait to go to sleep, this early pregnancy lark is tiring...0

Robotsindisguise - I think small amounts of spotting can be entirely normal, so don't blame yourself and give your MW a call if you're really worried.
I don't have a midwife yet... And I'm scared to phone my dr as he's seen me too often recently for other things!
I have anxiety triggered IBS, so havnt been well this evening. Plus only 4 working days left till I'm made redundant so I'm not great at all if I'm honest.Thank you everyone. Baby dust to all and see you very soon xxPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Sophiasmum yes we are - I am 10 weeks and 2 days today though could change a little bit tomorrow I guess.
Thanks all for your wishes for tomorrow!! I am going to try and get some sleep now....wishful thinking probably but I'll try anyway!!
Good night everyone xOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
We really can't win as mothers! I remember when my son was tiny he was a terrible sleeper (for two years...) anyway I thought i would be so grateful when the night came that he slept through, instead i spend most of the night awake wondering why he hadn't woken up and listening into the monitor to try and hear him breathing!!
The protective instinct that comes right from minute of the positive test always amazes me!
My Granny used to say, "a mother's place is in the wrong", and it's no less true now than it was when she was a new mother!
Estimating the size of the baby from scans seems to be a very inexact science - I had a scan at 39 weeks, for size, and they estimated that my son would weigh 11lb (!) at birth. He weighed precisely 8lb, which isn't oddly large at all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

The current UK Borders Dept, previously the UK Border Agency, previously the Border and Immigration Agency, previously the IND?
That's all within the 10 years or so I've been working in immigration law (-:Oh, and as a side note, unless my ILR comes in before the baby arrives, I'm not eligible for any money from the government, and I'm not working, so no maternity pay. I'm hoping that DH gets a raise in January like he has every year working for this company so far, otherwise it will be a bit tighter than I'd like.
Don't forget, if you are on the July 2012 or after family route for ILR, you'll need to demonstrate an extra amount once the baby is born - £2,400 for a first child, I think? DOn't rely on that, I'm not sure!
If your DH has British nationality or ILR, he can claim child benefit etc after the baby is born, even if you can't yet do so....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Mysecretalias- good luck with the scan today! Will be looking out for your post!
Robotsindisguise - so sorry to hear about everything that's going on, I hope things settle down soon :-( if you're still early on then the spotting could be totally normal implantation bleeding. I had it with my last pregnancy and the midwife said it's just the baby burrowing it's way into the sides of your womb to get a good grip.
I had my scan date through for next Wednesday when according to my lmp I will be 11+4. I have a funny feeling the scan will put my dates back by a few days in which case I will be too early to the nuchal fold test and I will have to go back again. I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing!
I'm hoping the sickness is reaching it's peak as it's the worst it's been so far, I'm basically surviving on biscuits and lemonade!
Have a good day everyone!0 -

I'm on the before July 2012 laws and will be applying for my ILR before the baby arrives, so no worries there.0 -
Mysecretalias - good luck for today
Let us know how it goes...
Robotsindisguise - hope you are feeling a bit better. Doesn't sound as if you are having a good time at the moment. If the spotting continues, I would phone the Drs (that's what they are paid for) - they will be able to book you in for an early scan.
Bonfire night - so its raining. My children are excited.....Off to work I go and hopefully the rain will stop otherwise it will be hotdogs and fireworks in the rain tonight!! x0
