Just found someone offering a handful of bottles and a manual medela breast pump on my local Freegle. Is it too early to start getting stuff like that?

I keep seeing stuff on freegle and getting tempted but my boyfriend and I have decided we definitely aren't going to get a single thing until after our 5th November scan. It's up to you I guess - I just don't want to jinx it!! Although it's different for me because my best friend is lending us a lot of stuff (double electric breast pump, Moses basket, baby bath, baby swing) so I am not in so much of a panic to start looking out for free/cheap stuff as I would be.

You sound exactly like me with your at-home attire - boyfriend often comes home to find me wearing several layers of his clothing and looking slightly ridiculous!! :rotfl:
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

    Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T
  • Look at us all up at 9:30!

Party good - thanks SamToby - though Im paranoid about my stomach and how fat Im looking at the mo!!! Sure some people are thinking I should go on a diet...

Mrs T-M -I always find leggings more comfortable than tights....Tights just never seem to stay up! You can wear leggings under skirts/dresses....

Not dug out all my maternity stuff yet (too early for me yet) Luckily the jeans were on top of the storage so I just grabbed them this morning when I had a clothing crisis..

My booking in appointment isn't until the 11 November, so I'm even earlier than you! The only thing we have is a bouncy seat (friend gave it to us after her little boy outgrew it), 6 vests (3 each: 0-3 mo, 3-6 mo), a single baby blanket, 3 muslin cloths, and a few baby towels and hooded towels. Ok, I actually use the hooded towels for me because I have long hair and I can wrap it up and let it dry a bit before combing and drying it. :o

I've no clue if we will be getting anything else from anyone, so I'm keeping my eyes open. I figure, if I get something from somewhere like freecycle, then someone buys or gives me something better, I can always repost to freecycle! :)

Ha! Leggings! That's the word I was looking for earlier! I couldn't think of what they were called over here! Leggings are more like thin knit material, whereas I think tights equate to 'hose' in the US.

I'm up watching CSI and listening to DH do his 'grand prix' race. *insert slightly rolling eyes here*

I'm already a fairly large woman. I wonder how big my bump/belly will end up getting? :rotfl:

One thing, if you lot haven't already noticed, the sleepier I get, the sillier and more long winded I get in posts! :p

  • mrs t_m sorry if iv missed this but have you already been to the doctors to tell them you're pregnant? I'm guessing so because you have that booking in appointment? is that the long one where they go through everything?

I haven't been to the doctors yet, I'm thinking of making an appointment this week, which is why I was wondering because you're due the day before me :D

going bridesmaid dress shopping at Cheshire oaks tomorrow with my best friend. she's gonna be the 2nd person to find out im pregnant as I'm gonna have to explain I don't know what size I need as the wedding will be just 6 weeks after iv given birth...ha! who know what size I'll be...a 12 now!

Yep. Went the day after I got my BFP so that they could put it on my chart. Got the BFP on the 10th of this month, went into the doc's office on the 11th. They said I couldn't have my booking until I was 8 weeks, thus the 11/11 booking appointment. I'm just trying to not get too bored or impatient with the waiting, because I know once the little one is here, time will really speed up!

Good morning :) Hope everyone is well, and not too tired, bloated or sick :) I am all of these and trying to get ready for work.
We have our scan tonight at the hospital where we had our IVF, I'm about 7+5 if I have worked it out right, but that may change by this evening. I am excited and nervous in equal measures.
I had my GP appointment on the 7th Oct and am still waiting to hear when my booking appointment will be-time to go and pull some strings with my colleagues in maternity I think.
Hope everyone has a good Monday :)
  • How exciting Mrs Happy! Looking forward to your update later xx

Morning all!! Happy Monday everybody... hope everyone is well :)

I woke up with a terrible ache in my neck this morning but it seems to have subsided now, just not getting comfortable sleeping at night and I just feel HOT, HOT, HOT all the time!!

Feeling positive this week, I have managed to get past my first milestone last week of 7 and a half weeks. And now I am 8+2 :j

Mysecretalias - we are bump buddies!! :D

I've had a terrbile cold over the weekend which is finally starting to go away... was feeling terrible and was reluctantly taking paracetamol to make me feel better.

I have booked a private scan for this saturday, I have to say I am bricking it... I think i am going to be in tears when we get there, sick with worry about something not being right :(

Anyways that is all from me, good luck to MrsHappy for your scan tonight, will look forward to a happy update from you :)

    Gops x

ETA: I also had my booking in last wednesday... pretty uneventful form filling, blood taking routine stuff... NHS scan booked for 22 Nov when I will be almost 13 weeks!!

Good morning everyone!! Look forward to hearing about your scan MrsHappy!

Well I'm on day 5 of lower stomach pains, my baby brain has finally put that and difficulty in going to the loo together and realised I may I have a UTI. Off to the docs this morning to see. I'm between docs as I moved a while back, so just using this one to get the possible UTI checked then my new doc can start the 'baby ball rolling' on Wednesday still.

Have a good day everyone x

    6+0 today!

samtoby - so pleased your scan went well.

mysecretalias - I also had a nosy round mothercare at the weekend after telling my mum (who was beside herself at the thought of being a grandma!). was very good and haven't bought anything yet though.

vickyvics - I think I am going to have to get some new bras this week too! I have been recommended H&M and New Look so casual maternity stuff, but does anyone know where I can get some smarter things? (I normally wear a suit for work, but could get away with smart dresses and jackets).

mrshappy - fingers crossed for you today - how exciting.

Gopppers - I'm the same with my temperature - DH said it was freezing in the bedroom last night, but I was absolutely roasting and couldn't get enough to drink!

sunshine81 - hope you get an answer at the docs and feel better soon

    Hope everyone else is well.

Had a lovely weekend where we told both mine and DH's families - they are all over the moon as this is the first grandchild on both sides.

My only grumble at the moment is that I STILL don't have my scan date! :(
