I won't be signing up to anything for a while - although must admit I picked up a mothercare catalogue the other day - well they were outside as I walked past! It's so difficult just taking this one day at a time when really we just want the autumn to come!

Volunteered to take our injured group member to hospital today as he needs surgery. Been here 7 hours & no sign if it happening yet. Bored! Mind you, it's not like I'm missing out on skiing.

Has anyone signed up to any of the baby clubs yet? Boots, Tesco, Bounty, etc?

I got a couple of leaflets to fill in and take in-store for some free packs (in the big Pregnancy pack you get from the doc/mw) but have not done it yet or joined any of the clubs cos I'm too nervous of jinxing it!

Does anyone know if the benefits of these things are more for those beyond 12 weeks or am I missing out?

E.g. I know with Boots you get more points to the £ which is making me want to join sooner rather than later (v MSE!!)

I haven't yet, I don't want to jinx anything. Once I've had a scan I'll be signing up for everything going, all being well.

Got another midwife appointment tomorrow for bloods and things, and then off for a few days away with the OH.

I would be cautious about signing up to anything just yet. You get bombarded with emails, texts, post and phonecalls from companies you didn't even know existed.

I found this very very hard after DD died (for those of you who don't know, she was 3 days old) as they still contact you. I remember a chap from some life-insurance company phoning me trying to get me to buy life insurance 'now that I had a baby'. I think he felt worse than I did after I told him she was dead.

Anyway, I know that's just me being very cautious from personal experience. I won't be signing up to anything this pregnancy.

Just had another blood test. Can phone after 4pm for results. Fairly positive the levels are going up as I did a FRER this morning and the test line appeared before the wee had even got to the control line. Yay :)

Had my 2nd scan today. 10 weeks with a heartbeat and a lovely little picture. Will be having a scan every 2 weeks or so again through this pregnancy.

I am the same as lilymay although my midwife did contact the companies so I didn't get many phone calls. My Sons were buried with the Apitmil bear and another bear my father got me. They were our bearcubs and my OH always sent me pictures of polar bears saying soon so it seemed right. But because of that I am petrified of signing up to anything.

    Just had my blood results....789.

Very happy. 1st doubling time was 25hrs, the next was 27hrs. They're really positive results :) Got a scan on Monday.

TOFT - I would wait until 7 weeks as you are almost certain to see a heartbeat then. At 6 weeks it may still be unclear :)

Kitten - So pleased the scan went well :) It's nice to have similar dates to someone to can relate to my previous experiences. We can be overly cautious together.

Such sad stories Lilly and Kitten. Wishing you both happier times this time around.

Glad I'm not the only one worrying about jinxes. Only oh and ma know so far and I'm not planning on telling anyone else till 12weeks.

Applepie you are due the same time as me (according to the maths) another 4 and a bit weeks to wait for my scan, feels like forever!

Getting a bit scared now, no sickness or nausea today at all. Feel normal and not pregnant :(
