Another one who is super thirsty here - only trouble is needing to wee constantly!

samtoby - could you try nibbling something with quite a strong, distinctive taste to get rid of the nasty taste? I'm thinking pickled onions, lemon slices, that kind of thing!

Afm, POAS this morning.... :o It was the Clearblue digi - just wanted to see it had gone up to 3+ on the conception indicator (which it had), so feel slightly happier now.

Also, today's post contained a letter from the midwife and my first appointment for booking in is on 10 October when I'll be a day under 8 weeks. Apparently I will need to decide where to have my baby by then(!). Do any Notts people know if QMC or City Hospital are meant to be any different?

I did the same last night and it had moved up to 3+ :)

I was reading about this and from what I gather there are people that have both positive and negative experiences at both hospitals (to be expected). QMC does apparently have better parking but City apparently has a parent and baby hotel. Where if the birth has been problem free then the parents can stay over night in their hotel where they will have the support of a midwife if they want it. Decisions decisions.

I'm still unsure where I want to give birth. We are closer to the QMC so for us that would be more convenient I guess.
  • Samtoby I'm feeling terribly tired. Went to bed at 8 last night and slept until 8.30 and even now at 9am I could fall straight back to sleep again. What are the signs of an iron deficiency? What type of pregnacare did they give you? I'm now wondering whether I should see if I can get an appointment this afternoon.

vickyvics - thanks for that, I will do some research as well, but we are also nearer QMC so may end up opting for that for convenience, with other factors being equal.

chelseablue - glad I'm not the only one with slightly bonkers behaviour! Yes, midwife wrote to me so my first appointment is 10 Oct when I'll be 7 weeks and 6 days too! I'll let you know how it goes so you know what to expect!

    Hey everyone,

VickyVics- Being tired is a sign. I had it with my DS and I recognise the symtoms. I think there are other signs but mainly being very tired. I am taking some tablets the Dr's perscribed. Thought that was nice that I had to pay for them after I found out I shouldn't have!

A blood test would show low Iron I believe.

My MW appointment is at 7+4 so a little earlier than 8 but it was mainly because of my recent mmc to discuss any concerns I may have, its only a week Thursday so not too long to wait. :j

I still have the taste, tried a few things but its STILL there lol. I guess its just one of those things. Still feel very sick but not actaully been sick, touch wood (touches wood) will be ok. :rotfl:

  • Hi everyone

    I am 7 + 6 as of today :)

I really wish the 12 week point would hurry along so i can share my good news with my family and friends! Keeping quiet is torture.

My first scan is booked for 24th Oct (I will be 12 + 1) Can't wait!!

I also have felt very sick but not actually been sick, although I was close to being sick in an isle in Tesco.... that would have been embarrassing, luckily I had it under control lol.

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

  • Hi girls,

    Well I'm finally 12 weeks today! :j

So pleased I got to this point but another week till my scan

Sickness has started to go the last couple of days although still feel yuck in mornings and with certain foods and now have a definite little bump so keeping fingers crossed everything's okay.

For those feeling tired, I started feeling tired from about 6 weeks with sickness starting at 6 +2 so could be related. I am still tired early even now and go through real tired points during the day when I can hardly keep my eyes open.

Oh the joys of pregnancy :)
  • I *think Im 5 weeks tomorrow - but am going to phone the mw tomorrow and start the ball rolling. If I go off the date of my last period then Im 6 weeks tomorrow (on a normal 28 day cycle) and Im pretty sure that's how she dated me last time. In my area I need to phone and leave a message, then we play telephone tennis until I finally get to speak to the midwife and make an apt!

Ive got a really round stomach! It must be where Im bloating but my jeans are tight already - theres no hope for me this time... I wore leggings to work today so I could be comfortable.
Off to bed now- well it is 9:30! x
