Thanks everyone :) firefly, that's a brilliant pic, glad all is well :)

Not getting my hopes up as I'm a constant pessimist but going to try and relax a bit about it all.

Just been googling - they date your pregnancy from the last period, is that correct? I haven't had a real one since coming off the pill though, so apart from the clear blue saying 1-2 (although I read it might be more accurate in the morning so might do one first thing on Saturday to check) does anyone have any idea what date I'd be looking at as an EDD (if all goes well)? I have no idea about when I ovulated.

Hi Laura, sorry for jumping in but I got pregnant and hadn't had a period for 11 years and the midwife based my 12 week scan booking on the basis I was 4 weeks pregnant at the date I found out. There is a little extra time with the nuchal test etc at scans so it doesn't matter if you're slightly over the 12 weeks. Not sure if your Dr/midwife will do the same but it might give you some idea x

Long day at work today, nearly 9.5 hours, so I'm currently trying not to vomit on the tube. Sorry I haven't read today's posts yet but I'll catch up at home. However I just wanted to ask how any of you in London got your Bounty pack and how quick you were seen by your midwife?

I'm not in London, but we get our Bounty pack when we go to the hospital for the 10 week scan. Then there is a voucher for the next one in the pack which you get from the shop. One when you have the baby from the maternity ward and there is another voucher in there which you get from a shop. I think it was Sainsburys I got mine from.

With both my pregnancies I went to the doctor who gave me a pack of stuff (just explaining jabs/ what to expect next leaflets and a thick book to fill in). Also there is a phone number to ring the hospital to book the scan.

After the scan you see the midwife at 17 weeks. Then at 20 weeks we have the 2nd scan. I'm not sure what happens next as this is my 2nd and they cut out loads of the mw appointments. I'm not due to see anyone until I'm 28 weeks. Everywhere is a bit different though. I also had a blood test as well for the risk of Down's and other blood conditions like sickle cell.

    I hope this helps

Maybe_its_because - I'm glad your scan went well. Enjoy telling your parents. I keep imagining telling my mum.

Birdie85 - I'm glad your scan went well too.

Claire - yes hormones really mess with your digestive system. I have IBS and was always affected by AF too, but now i'm sicky with terrible indigestion if I eat a normal sized meal. I'm also getting occasional diarrhoea, wind and i'm belching too. I don't feel very sexy right now. :) I was on trains all weekend too but my problem was wanting to curl up and being forced to sit upright for hours.

Jox - Don't worry, the main thing is to eat something and take your vitamins. You're body has stored good stuff to give your baby for now and you can eat better when the sickness stops. I'm okay until midday and then the thought of food is very offputting yet i'm hungry. I find making myself eat very small meals is the way to get through it.

Jenni_fer - Are you able to find non-maternity clothes that you can wear for now, such as dresses, larger trousers, floaty tops, etc? That way you have more choice in the shops. My sister just wore larger and longer clothes for ages and then bought cheap maternity clothes on ebay, which she later sold on.

Laurablue - Congratulations. If your clearblue still says 1-2 weeks after testing with first morning urine then I think DayDreamBeliever's comment about dating yourself at 4 weeks makes a lot of sense. I was four weeks the day after I tested and saw 1-2 weeks.

Firefly - I love you gorgeous scan pic. I used to think 12 weeks was very early in a foetus's development but now it feels very different and I just hope to make it there. So I can understand your feelings about the test.

AFM - it's amazing how different I feel at 8 weeks compared to 6. I've gone from feeling completely normal but having some cramps to getting out of breath when I walk for five mins, getting pains in my sides if I walk fast, feeling so tired at work sometimes that I daydream about a slap on the face to wake me up, feeling sicky from midday onwards and feeling that food is really offputting, having very very sore boobs and having my clothes become too tight round the waist. What's really annoying is not getting any sympathy, particularly at work, as you don't want anyone to know for weeks yet! Thankfully hubbie is lovely and doing the whole protector thing. :)

    8+3

Firefly oh wow what a lovely scan picture. I feel the same way about the test although I'm younger than you.

Kynthia me too, I am pleased my pregnancy seems to kind of get rid of my ibs but its replaced by burping & gas and tummy aches because I can't go, normally it's the other way around!

I dreamt all last night about feeling sick & now I've woken up & feel pretty queasy, I like your description Kynthia of the change in symptoms it's very true!althoughfor myself it seems to happen a bit earlier! I haven't got the out of breathe thing yet but I remember that from before & thinking how weird it was as its not like we're lugging huge bumps around yet!

Hi girls, hope I can join in :)

I got my first ever bfp yesterday at 13DPO after about 7 months of trying and posting on the TTC board. Took another clear blue one yesterday evening and was a little darker and def positive. Keep expecting it to fade away and it all to be a dream!

Just rang the Drs this morning though as I'm actually taking 100mg of B6 to help with the spotting over the last 1 1/2 months and don't know whether to stop or carry on.

Hi Samtoby - Hope your scan goes well x

samtoby wishing you luck with your scan and hoping the time passes quickly for you! Hopefully will see you on the next thread once we get to 12 weeks too :)

I can't stop yawning today - it's crazy! Normally I'm a ball of energy and productively every morning but I just can't focus on anything for more than a couple of minutes today!
