Little Baby Birdie doing well! :j Will post a photo tonight.
Measured at 11w 1d, which is *exactly* what I've been telling them all along and was 0.6mm too small for the nuchal fold measurement so I have to go back for another scan on Monday. It was amazing seeing it's little arms and legs waving around, the sonographer seemed really happy with how everything looked apart from being annoyed at it just being that little bit too small for the screening test!
I found it painful though as I'd drunk loads and then had to wait an extra 15 minutes to be seen so was at the 'Oh my God I'm going to burst' stage of needing to pee and she was trying so hard to find a good view of baby for the measurement she was pressing down really hard and telling me to relax... I wanted to tell her that if I relaxed I'd pee all over the place!
TTC39, try not to worry, it's possible that it's implantation bleeding. I had dark brown blood (and a little pink blood which scared me to death!) for a few weeks after getting my BFP.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

thanks lily may and faith hope.
got the first postive test albeit faint friday.. saturday did the clearblue ones.. saying 2-3..
have done another one before i left house..still says positive..
hope i am just worrying myself unnecessarily.. :-(
she said it in a nice way.. just that it does happen.. (she was really nice) told me she had her 2nd at 41 and that it is so not unusual now to be an older mum .xx
Getting 2-3 on a digi is good news. Means your hormone levels have increased. Don't bother doing anymore. Pregnant or miscarrying...they will continue to be positive so put them away.
Try to relax and enjoy things for now. If the bleeding continues perhaps call your local EPU and see if they can arrange blood tests to check hcg levels. Too early for scans, but they may arrange one for the future.

NO! Use tissue if you have to, or kitchen roll, or anything. Not tampons.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Why on earth would a Dr tell you to prepare for a mc?
What a stupid and insensitive thing to say!
TTc39 - I was 38 when I had my son and am 40 now expecting my 2nd in less than 5 weeks., and every midwife I have spoken to has said they are seeing far more healthy pregnancies in women over 35.
40 is no longer deemed old, and you can have old insides at 25 or excellent healthy one's at 42!
I had browny/pink spotting with this pregnancy in the first week too and was convinced I was losing as had suffered 2 chemical pregnancies in a row. Turns out it must have been implantation, which there is a good chance yours is as well. If you aren't bleeding heavily/cramping, it's a good sign.
As Lily said, don't use tampons, just put a pad on and try and get an appointment at EPU.
Good luck.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
ttc39 - as the others have said please try not to worry too much. xx
Surely you could just tell your boss it was something else if you really wanted/needed to go?
I told my parents this afternoon - by phone. Not the ideal way but I wanted to get it out of the way before Thursday (my birthday) and definitely before I visit them on Saturday.
I told mum first then got her to tell dad - totally too wimpy to tell him myself! He has always, always said to me that if I were to get pregnant before I get married he would be disappointedAnd I have tried to subtly change his views but he's old fashioned and stubborn so...and anyway this is the way that will work best for us (timings etc). Mum was totally shocked. Not unhappy just stunned.
Dad then called me and was the same - obviously disappointed but said he can be disappointed but happy at the same time. I'm sure they will be fine and I really want them to come around quickly as I want them to be really involved. I have a tiny family that I'm close to (mum, dad, brother and one auntie - plus her oh and 2 sons) so it's super important to me that everyone be on board and positive.
I wasn't expecting dad to be over the moon or anything but a little bit happier and more positive wouldn't have killed him I'm sure! Now I feel like I could just go home, curl up and sleep/cry after a good hug from bf! Just hoping they are much better on Saturday as I will be spending most of the day with them and hope they are nice to bf when he joins us at lunch time! They like him, dad just gets annoyed as bf and I have had a few arguments/fallings out which have upset me but I don't want dad to lay down the law on him or anything!
I need to tell my direct line manager at work really - we work extremely closely with each other and our desks are next to each other (edge to edge so we face each other) I worked up the nerve to tell her whilst I was out buy my folic acid and some ginger ale but I've wimped out again!
Telling bf's parents tonight, also over the phone as they are away for the week, who will be completely over the moon - especially his mum! Then just his grandparents to tell (I don't have any). I know it's 'traditional' to wait until 12wks and it's all because of the risks but I will need the support if anything else happens and friends are thin on the ground for me!************************************

Hugs TTC. I don't think it's all that unusual to have a bit of light spotting early on. Hopefully it's nothing to be worried about.Mortgage when started: £330,995
