http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23265810 was just reading this article about more babies being born outside of marriage relating to your comment birdie. Thought it was interesting. I work in a very deprived area of the city and it is the complete norm for parents not to be married there...lots of very young mothers etc. Crazy to think how different it was in 1938!

Funny how many people associate that with young deprived single mothers though and the decay of proper stable relationships. Most of my friends in their 30/40 had their first babies now and are in long term relationships just not married. Doesn't mean they're not commited as it sounds in the article. Same here we only gonna get married next year as OH didn't see the point (guess who's got all the ideas about how it need to be done though :rotfl:)

Feel fine today just tired, but not looking fwd to my first pregnant non-fun Friday especially as I can't tell anyone yet and just have to hide.

I'm struggling to believe that this is happening for us, even though we've seen baby I'm just terrified! After so long of bad news, it just feels like we couldn't be this lucky if that makes sense?

I wrote almost exactly this on the 12m+ thread last night. You're not alone :o

Very Best of Luck Cherry Bomb. I hope you get some good news. Fingers crossed for you.

Becca - It has taken three scans to make me believe that this is really going to happen.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Cherry. Your OH sounds like such a sweetheart, hope you enjoy tonight with him. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Cherry I'm glad your OH is home and good luck for tomorrow.

Becca I hope you feel more positive now Xx

I'm another one that is good for nothing today. I keep bursting into tears! I've cried at songs on the radio, cried at our car insurance quote, cried because I'm hungry but I don't know what I want, cried at the fact that my trousers feel tight, cried at the stuff about Drummer Lee Rigby's funeral (although I would have cried at that without being pregnant), the list is endless. :(

    Thinking of you tomorrow Cherry

Honestly don't know what I'd do without this board. Currently only OH knows so I think I'd be going loopy without hearing all of your tales and being able to share experiences.

Off out tonight for a night out that I organised before being pregnant, driving to deflect the 'why aren't you drinking' a litle but still feels like it could be a long night!

    Hope everyone has relaxing weekends.

My midwife didn't give me a choice of where to give birth, she didn't even discuss it! I'll be at Wythenshawe hospital.

Faerie - my friend at work chose Wythenshawe over, I think, Stepping hill, because with her first they were excellent with her, I think she got a frosty reception from her midwife when she asked for Wythenshawe again! Just because its not in a great area, doesn't mean its a bad hospital. In fact, isn't it a world leading hospital that specialises in something? I'm thinking heart relate problems but prop wrong!

Must be midwifes in our area as I was told over the phone that I have to go to Leighton in Crewe, even though Warrington is closer! Still thinking about that one!

I'm still very jealous of all your early scans etc. I do not see the midwife till I'm 10+6 (7 aug), I hope I get a scan appointment straight away, there is no way I will be able to wait after 12 weeks. I will have to go private - though that isn't cheap. :(
I very nearly caved in today, I so want to tell my sister but I know she will tell the world, we are very close but she has a very loud mouth and is not to be trusted! :rotfl::rotfl:Roll on 12 weeks please!!!!!!!

Symptoms - I thought my sickness arrived yesterday, felt awful but wasn't actually sick and today, I feel completely normal again! Had to tell people I was full of a cold and think I ate something dodgy the night before :rotfl:think it worked! Office full of women - who knows!

Right ladies, I am off to make my dinner, then as hubby is on nights, is having a night on the sofa watching the soaps in peace.

Crikey, this thread really does move fast! Midwife yesterday was good, I did feel like I was basically handed a packet of junk mail though! Just waiting for my scan date to come through now, I need a date to look forward to!

Work is a bit stressful at the moment, I've got to do a formal improvement plan for a chap who works for me. I'm dreading the whole thing and I've never done it before. Needs to be done though, the quality of his work is shocking and he's causing me a lot of extra work I could really do without :(

    Anyhoo, its the weekend, hurray!!!
