thinking of you lilmissup, be kind to yourself, take it easy x

thanks for the kind wishes TeamLowe and 4nnabella (yes I remember you, how spooky about the dates! Thanks for posting :) )

I went home from work half an hour early yesterday as I'd been feeling sick a while, but felt a lot better today. Going in late tomorrow as I'm attending an evening event so will try and take the opportunity to call the EPU re an early scan before I go in.

I have had an ok day today. I had Doctors this morning and she was lovely said I should book a Midwife appointment for not this week but next week so I booked the next which was Monday 24th.

I spoke to her about being worried as my last pregnancy didn't go forward past 10 weeks so I have a scan on the 20th June. I think it will settle me if I see 'something' don't know if I would see that much tbh but would be 7 weeks by then so maybe....oh I am all at sixes and sevens like my Grandma would say......

Sam - On a 12 week scan, a 'nub' is sometimes visible. It's like a little sticky out bit near the bum. If the 'nub' is pointing upwards at an angle of more than 30 degrees compared to the spine, it is usually a boy. If it's horizontal or pointing downwards, it's a girl.

I think it's an old wives tale with a scientific basis. Obviously it's not an exact science and is just a bit of fun. But like the Chinese gender predictions!

Fran - Good luck getting a scan appointment and glad you are feeling better.

Sam - Good news about your scan too. 20th isn't too far away. At 7 weeks it will only be a blob, but a blob with a heartbeat none the less :)

That is interesting. I will remember that. I am amazed how much they can tell on a 12 week scan to me apart from the defined age outline and shadows! xx

Sending massive hugs to Lilmissmup. :(

Really interesting stuff about the nub theory Lily! I'll have to remember that for my scan! :)

Good news about getting the early scan Sam. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

At my 12 week scan they were able to give me a 75% guess on the gender based on the way the bladder lies. If it is sticky up it is likely a boy, and lying flat it's a girl.

I am going to a big training hospital in London and apparently their equipment is second to none so they can get very clear images at 12 weeks.

Turned out they were right and I am indeed having a girl!

Is that the last one for you MV? Nice to have one of each if it is :)

I have convinced myself this is a girl now. I am DYING to find out.

Well done for eating more Star. Always helps with the sickness. I was very sick in the loo's of the restaurant we were eating at last night :( I started to feel all funny, most unpleasant.

Birdie - It seems some people swear by the 'nub' theory but I think i would take it with a pinch of salt. The Chinese gender predictor got both my previous 2 correct but that says this is a boy too!
At the end of the day, there's a 50/50 chance!
