    Happy Easter everyone,

Just worked out my figures for the end of the month (assuming today is a SFD). Its not looking good for meeting the challenge or my budgets, but I'm still pretty pleased with what we have achieved this month. Without the challenges it would have been far worse.

    Food £296/£180
    Petrol £258/£240
    Other £271/£250
    Made £73.75
    SFDs 21/25

I have learnt a lot this month so will be far more prepared for next month's challenge! Has anyone got any tips for getting DH on board with the challenge? He keeps complaining that he feels like he's being told he's not allowed to spend any money (which to be honest is true)!

  • Happy Easter everyone!

Just about to sign up for April's challenge. Going over on all budgets has made me even more determined to succeed during April. Hubby's workload doesn't look great for next month so going to have to pull those purse strings even tighter!
    Have a lovely day everyone.

Had a great night last night and I didnt spend a penny or pound,

Just signed up for April and have to do better as OD has gone up again, its when I put my DD card in my purse I cant help it, perhaps I should draw out the months money and then give it to my DD or something, not sure what to do but I must stop spending.

Found out last night DD1 is getting married May 2014 so it would be nice to lose a bit of weight as well as get out of debt for that date, gives me something to work for, but I must stop spending!!!!!

Just signed up to Aprils challenge too. Just quickly. Had a great night out on Friday but spend more than planned as dinner was split equally (15 people and some had starters and alcohol grrrr). Also went to an expensive pub but I left early to joins hubbies night out. Really enjoyed first baby free night together in 3 years. Yesterday was spendy too as we bought DS a bed and groceries.

Bought an oven thermometer because my cakes never rise or my pastry. The oven is 33 and came with the house and turns out doesn't heat beyond 150C hence only that one sponge recipe works and roasties take ages. Might buy a cheap new on and paint the kitchencabinet doors as we won't be doing the kitchen up proper till in 5 or so years.

    Catch up properly tonight

    Hi all - Happy Easter!

Well a SFD today. Been to visit my parents, felt a bit bad because I wasnt all that enthusiastic about going but I really enjoyed it in the end! Plus we have all been fed all day and Mum, bless her, gave me £20 before we left. I mentioned we were going shopping tomorrow and she wants me to buy something for myself. Now, what to spend it on?

We got into a ridiculous habit of buying the kids an Easter present when they were small and each year seemed to buy them something bigger. I gave them a 99p egg and £10 each this morning to buy something for themselves. I think DS2 was a tiny bit disappointed there was no present but very good about it and was very grateful for the money. I dithered a bit last night but glad now that I stuck to my plans.

Thrifty, is your oven a built in one? When mine packed up I bought the cheapest one I could find in B&Q and hubby fitted it himself in no time.

Nanny, congratulations on DD1s wedding plans, sounds like it could be expensive but a good incentive to clear the debts.

Oh and Beckyboo, I know how you feel, the weather hasnt been great for my hubbys business and I hope things pick up soon.

Got some stuff ending on ebay so I am off to see how its doing!
