Hello all,
Took dad shopping this morning, can you believe he's never done a weekly shop before? Or used chip and pin? Mind you, it was only a few years ago he got his own bank account, mum always held the purse strings firmly.
Ended up buying some coffee as it was half price, some onions and spuds to make onion bhajis and saag aloo for tea to go with the fish curry and naans I'm making. Oh and a20p tin of pineapples for a sweet n sour I plan to make.
Still got £10 of the weekly budget left but I suspect Hubby has plans to spend it on a couple of bottles of wine for the weekend.
Gonna be tough sticking to £100 next week. Hubby has agreed for us to go out with his family for Sunday lunch and on a pub crawl tomorrow with some friends. I intend to do it somehow though0 -
Hello everyone! I am feeling rather embarrassed because I have not been coming as often as I could to the forums or as expected under the rules :-/ of taking part in this threat so ready for the punishment :-)
I am afraid I was unable to take a daily note of my FSDs so I lost the track because I have been very busy...I have mentioned earlier that in December sales we bought a new bathroom suit which we left in the garage so this month I have been ripping off the bathroom and helping my OH fitting it which saved as a lot of money if contracting a bathroom fitter. However, we have had to make extra expenses lights, paint, new flooring etc... doing the bathroom has prevented from going shopping and to the restaurants the money we usually spent in the latter went tin the extras for the bathroom uff is finished now and is looking great is very modern and lovely!
Today I cut the grass, washed the car, planted some strawberries and we all went to the park and I am here now shattered ha ha ha..
i have updated my signature..this month despite no keeping up my SFDs I managed to save £1000.
Have a lovely afternoon and I hope you have made most of your day...
Sending you all a warm hug..
I will succeed!No debts 🙌0 -
Afternoon all - well I've done it - work hours complete for the month and 5 banked in advance for April - this is just as well - hard to work when the kids are on holiday and we are off for a week down in sunny warm Cornwall (a girl can hope) next Friday. Getting Aprils hours done is going to be interesting!! Also dug boss out of a hole so brownie points all round - he bribes me with chocolate - works like a charm
Has meant three very late nights/early mornings on the trot - I plan to sleep a lot this weekend!
Had a morning running craft tables at a local Easter fair, baking a cake thingy for another one tomorrow. DH the domestic God has made a lemon tart to take to a friends for tea - the PA's at work set him the challenge to make one last week for work - apparently he has been scoffing their homemade cup cakes. Anyway he excelled and had some ingredients left so I set him to work again!!
DD has scored an invite to a joint birthday party next tuesday - not sure I can be... "bothered" to make two aprons for the girls concerned - will see on Sunday.
April is almost here - have done the monthly money shuffle bring it on!!

Forgive me.....I was very silly today! I went with a friend to a very large shopping centre and totally intended to not spend anything (I was helping her to find a dress for a wedding). I ended up buying DD a dress, DD some books and also some suncream. Now the spend was not massive, but.....I don't have any money left this month. I forgot the mantra of 'If you can't afford it, don't buy it'. Also, suncream?!?!? Suncream?!? Its freezing. There is no sun. Why did I feel the need to buy suncream. Well, because it was on offer. I fully realise the stupidity of my purchase and will be returning tomorrow to see if I can get a refund? I'm really cross with myself this evening.
Currently on 19 NSDs. I know I won't make the target but I'm really impressed with that anyway. Its more than I ever felt possible. And its all thanks to Kat's challenge - can't wait for the next one!

Hi everyone, hope everybody is enjoying their breaks:) Im working again tomorrow, and then tomorrow night Im our for a meal that is being paid for by DD1.
Not a SFD today, need some cordial and bits cos I have DGD here for the night, and DD1 is also coming here after her night out so shes here for when DGD wakes as I will already be at work, Im over budget and I need to put some more fuel in the car, I grossly underestimated it this month, I think I worked it out on a four week month not 31 days, and then I had a couple of extra journeys.
Anyway going to put lunch/breakfast up for tomorrow and go to bed, in at 6am:( but at least Im home by 2.30:)

Another freezing day today but had a bit of a voucher marathon, I felt like that Judith from the telly with her extreme couponing
Went on a free train journey thanks to RSH Telegraph code, free coffee thanks to 02 rewards, free cinema ticket thanks to my points card and a free load of nachos thanks to 02 again. Saved a bundle there but then spent £13 in Ikea.... Whoops! But it was all stuff I (sort of) needed and had been planning a while. I just meant sure I went around with one of those big Ikea bags and not a trolly so I didn't end up flinging half the store in a trolly. So much lovely and cheap stuff in that shop. Sigh...0 -
Hi all I have been AWOL and behaving badly - I too got paid yesterday and got a bit blinded by it, lost my way and spent money I shouldn't have...haven't counted it yet
Taking dd1 for shopping trip tomorrow which is planned but in next months budget but as I have been paid and no dd2 for the day I am going tomorrow - need to do it by Tuesday so easier with one. Determined to stick to our list of basic cloth in with one special purchase because dd1 got a great school report! She wrote a short story that is brilliant and so descriptive - my English is shocking!
Anyway will be good, I promise :A off to the nauhty step I go to count my mischief, set budgets and hang out with the other naughty kids. Looking forward to next month - will be more realistic so can be more determined!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -

Yesterday spent on bits that werent terribly exciting but wanted to make use of a spend day as knew I was out last night, which would involve me handing over money. Went to see a live televised ballet of Alice in Wonderland at the cinema, Fantastic!!!!

I think the Vitamix man is following me...I accidentally stumbled upon him (same man!!) demonstrating in a large department store this afternoon!! I watched one more time and he remembered me from Earls Court at the weekend (was it the 3 portions of soup I scoffed at the weekend that made me memorable?)
Other than that it was another spendy, this time it was for food. I realised that although my freezer's full of dinners, I had very little in the way of breakfast food or snacks. So, £16.69 later, I have enough breakfasts, lunches and dinners to last the week
Tomorrow will involve parting with more cash - meeting friends for dinner (let's see if I can split the bill this time). I think it will extend into a pub lunch on Sunday but a) I'm quite excited about this as I never seem to take a day off work and b) it'll be a proper catch up without the rush of catching the last tube and c) it's what normal people do on bank holiday weekends!
So, whether you have easters eggs or boiled eggs, I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday :easter_os0
