Well sorry to all of you that had your bank holiday spoiled by the rain but my garden loved it - I swear all the plants have popped up another inch in surprise - some of them have only ever had washing machine or dirty washing up water

17yo dd has cut my hair and I can see again - yay!
10yodd and I decided not to decoupage her door but have done the stairs instead with some lovely pictures from the sunday supplements. We have literally stuck them all over like crazy patchwork with pva glue and water. We need to think of a way of sealing it though and have only done every other stair but it looks very very funky and colourful. I have also stuck my johhny depp picture by the front door so that the first thing I see when I come down the stairs in the morning will be Pirate JD - if that doesn't get me up then nothing will :)

I tell you it never rains but it pours at the mo - I have had an email from an exboyf who had a breakdown and then went travelling - he is in vietnam at the moment but seems pretty low and is obviously off his meds. I am trying to get hold of his stepmother to see if she thinks we ought to contact the embassy (if there is one) - really it's not my problem but I can't not care.

    have a good evening

    YIPPPEEEE!! :j :D :T :D :T :D :j
My new toys look great! Took ages to unpack them, and then had to reverse the door on the upright freezer (Lordgrim helped me with that one).
Now need to let them settle and then chill/freeze overnight. Then I can finally empty the old fridge/freezer, and have it taken away!!!

Trouble is, now the kitchen looks like it needs decorating!!

Major cooking day tomorrow - will let you all know how I get on.

Have a good evening everyone. Sleep well. See you tomorrow.

CCstar - sorry to hear about your probs. We had a few wrinkles with teenage years. Fortunately sorted. I had to go to police station more than once! Not a good situation. Fortunately no probs once they drove.

Hope the house business sorts itself out before long.

Glad to see you have started posting again. You were a wee bit anti for a while with those negative posters. Don't rise to the bait - they are not worth it!

    Evening all,

CCStar...Dannahaz has expressed much better than I could exactly what I wanted to say about your son....he's an adult, let him get on with it, he really should have seen the rock if it was big enough to do damage! Please be kind to yourself and try to ignore the things you can do nothing about, even the noisy neighbours, you will eventually find somewhere nice to live and are being sensible enough to rent so that you don't make a panic buy. Hugs aplenty to help to keep you going.

Well done Oops a Daisy, I have been a non-smoker for five years and feel so much richer financially and breath wise. You can do it even if a minute at a time to begin with!

Happy birthday to SOMO1...I hope that you have had a good day.

Did very little to-day...one of those tired days when everything is too much hassle, picked and froze the last of the broccoli, made soup which started out as leek and potato and ended up as fridge debris...I think that's a wonderful name that I stole from someone on here. Made pizza for dinner, the lazy way by splitting bread and putting toppings on and sticking into oven for about ten minutes...was nice served with salad, rhubarb and yogurt for dessert. Also managed to sow marjoram, chervil and herb celery seed in pots in greenhouse, will transplant to herb patch when weather is kinder.

Kind thoughts to newbies, sorry I have forgotten names, hugs to all in need and congratulations to all who deserve them

    To all you smoker quitters

When DGS was due I was still smoker and very heavy. DD said no sleepovers until you stop. Stopped day after he was born (3 weeks early and cold turkey)!!. I had motivation. You can do it! Still doing nicotine gum time to time when get the urge. Still feel a bit sad I keep it in just in case!!! Worst is when I have had had a glass or two but still refraining.

My best friend has cancer and she quit 14 years ago. Dad died 28 years ago from cancer he didn't smoke.

Please support Run for Life or another cancer charity - it means so much.

    Love GB
