Hi everyone.
Didn't make it back on here yesterday as after visiting MIL, DH and I cuddled up on the sofa to watch a DVD (for a change).
We're having a lazy, but productive day here. I managed to get my washing on the line for about 4 hours between the showers and I packed up all of my ebay parcels. The girls have managed to play outside with their friends for a few hours and we were planning to have a BBQ but we're going to improvise and do it all inside!
Have a good evening!0 -
Hi Everyone
Yes, apologies again as I have been totally out of the loop yet again! Last week was so hectic at work sorting stuff out before I came off on holiday. Busy weekend in garden, washing, ironing, special dinner at DD's and SIL's yesterday because DH 60 on Wednesday. We are off to Spain tomorrow for a week and then we have the big 60th party the Saturday after we get back. Freezer already heaving with party food and a visit to Costco planned for pizza and quiche on our return. Also been stocking up on the beer and wine. DS and partner coming over from Ireland the day before so they will be roped in to help.
Have quite a collection of cards to slip into the cases tomorrow morning. Hopefully good weather will mean we are at our favourite seafood beach restaurant on Wednesday celebrating his free travel bus pass!
Didn't make it over the Forth Bridge on the bike yesterday. Bridge was closed to bikes for a while because of strong winds (GB gave a huge sigh of relief!!). Had a wonderful family day. DD now finished work and I had a good feel of Finlay louping about. Only 9 weeks now.
Rather upset by news coverage this weekend. Poor wee Maddy - can't imagine what the family are going through. Awful about policeman shot - latest news is that he didn't fire a shot. What a dreadful accicdent on the M25?
Anyway, on a brighter note. Just hope you are all doing OK. Bank holiday Monday hasn't been too great weather wise here.
CChick - wish I had found time to liaise further with you re DH's card. I have ended up with a c@@@ one! Will definitely make more of an effort in the future!!!!
Love and hugs to you all.

Hi all
Weather here is very changable, I've got washing on the line at the mo, but am keeping a very close eye on the weather.
DSS & Gf set off after lunch to get the ferry home to Ireland, it was nice to see them & we are hoping they'll come back in the summer for a week.
Sorry to hear you are having problems CC, I kept hearing a loud bang against my road side fence & couldn't work out what it was, I realised when I popped to the shops that the local kids are playing football & have marked 2 of my fence posts with chalk to use as a goal!!
Danna, I'm with you on that one, my lodger is always worrying about her son, she is supporting him while he's at Uni & sends him extra money when he's used his allowance to buy CD's & then can't buy food, her hubby says the son should get a P/T job, but of course he isn't going to if Mum is going to keep bailing him out!
I'd be the first to bail out my kids if they needed help, but I do expect them to stand on their own 2 feet, & they know that.
Hugs to all
Hester

We are taking the car into the garage to get a quote, then will work out with him how it will be paid, it has a £350 excess being under 21 and maybe more on top, will check the T&Cs, so if less than a certain amount will pay without claiming.
We are also going to take the car from him until he finds a job once it is repaired. He has had two years to get a job and had his own car to do so.
He is really making a rod for his back, you can do what you can to help, and he used to be very helpful and earned his goodies, but if they don't help themselves....

Well, we have just had the chicken legs with salad and the rhubarb crumble along with the half a bottle of Muscadet we opened yesterday.........
We are as packed as we can be until the morning, I cleaned through today, cannot bear to come back to an untidy house, drives me crackers, have to iron 2 shirts and 2 tee shirts from todays wash, will do those in a minute, am just downloading speed cameras onto the sat nav....hope there are no holdups on the M25 tomorrow although we do have an alternative route and will be leaving in plenty of time, our ferry sails at 1.30 so by 4pm we will be 'en france' and heading for the nearest hypermarche for some wine for supper!!!!! and then on to our accomodation............for 10 days of rest and relaxation............
We had a little rain earlier this afternoon but then the sun came out and dried it all up again. we have sown beans in the cold frame with the hope that they will be ok whilst we are away, wet newspaper underneath them. The basil I sowed into a pot on the windowcill is coming up at a rate of knots, by the time we get back we should have quite a nice crop, I love tomato and basil salad in the summer.
Right I am off to put the travel bag and a crate of food in the car before we have a bath and rfetire to bedibies.................
See you all in 10 days....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
In order to take my mind off things and my only day at home in days I made a mexican mince for some tacos, some mexican pinto beans, a rice pudding, blancmange and jellies.
I prepared spuds, mushrooms and peppers to be BBQ'd later.
The sun is out now.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
