  • Morning all! Raining here, the garden will be glad of it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who scares the neighbours in my nightclothes :rotfl: in my case I'm more worried about exposing my (ample) top half to the world - the garden is pretty well enclosed but there's always a rogue gust of wind just as I'm carrying bird seed, water jug etc out to the bird table and I quickly scurry back in again before the curtains twitch next door:rotfl:

Loraine, I'm not surprised you were low yesterday, you had a big week last week which didn't turn out as you expected and you'd put loads of energy into that. Have a nice rest today if possible.

Twink, thanks for thinking of my little cat. She's definitely on the mend today, looks a lot brighter, and has managed half a bowlful of food. When you only weigh 6lb to start with, any weight loss looks awful and now she looks like one of those poor half starved creatures you see on Greek islands :( I'm still scavenging around trying to find foods to tempt her to eat.

More ironing for me today as I was lazy and only managed half the pile yesterday. There's a nice loaf cooking in the BM as I type (mmmm) and I've just remembered I've forgotten to get out the chicken from the freezer for tea :o . OH wants to go to a garden centre today to buy a new Strimmer (the old one which was over 20 years old finally collapsed and died yesterday) so I will go with him and see if there are any plants left for hanging baskets.

Have a great day everyone. Happy Birthday to SMO1 :bdaycake:
Hugs to all those not feeling well or needing one.

    morning all:)

aime - its not raining this side of bognor:( send it over this way hun my plants are in desperate need!

    somof1 - happy birthday!

well, back to meal planning and hard budgeting here:) have cleared the last of my debt (except loan) yay! but unfortunately my laptop seems to be on its way out so now i need to save to buy a new one before i start saving to clear my loan!

breakfast here will be cereal/toast for little ones and muesli for me all with soya milk.

lunch will be sarnies and soup or something with eggs lol whoever wants which i dont mind

dinner is a sausage casserole with mash and veggies

i am doing a storecupboard and freezer use up challenge this month:) we have loads of weird and wonderful things to use up lol and again i will be trying to stay away from the shops as much as possible except to top up with soya milk and fruit and veg.

it will just be a chilled day here, all the kids are at home today whereas they have been out doing various things all weekend, it will be nice to have the time with them today.

i will only be doing a small wash today as i dont see anything getting dried on the line so the airers will be coming out:) i have all the uniforms already done so i will catch up with bigger loads on sunnier days!

it is blowing a gale here this morning on the southcoast!

edit...cheers aime......the rain has just started! lol

    have a great day all:)

    good morning everyone

Happy Birthday SOMO1. I hope you have a lovely day.

The rain is supposed to move in here later today so I plan to get to the recycling centre soon with the four bin bags(!) of shredding that I did yesterday. My financial files are looking much trimmer now and the magazine rack and coffee table are also looking healthier for it.

PenPen I heard about that man on the news last night. I think it was rather silly of him to stop paying his mortgage, etc, but he isn't the first to do it and I'm sure he won't be the last. I know of someone who was given six months to live so went on a spending splurge thinking that his debts would die with him. Six months later he got a call telling him that they had mixed his file up with another man's and he wasn't dying at all. He still hasn't cleared all the debts he ran up. So, I suppose I can see why the man in the news is suing the hospital. I wonder if he will be successful?

I need to go out today to try and find a suitable gift box for a beautiful Harrods scarf that I got at a bargain price. There is a new-ish cash and carry here so I may pop in there and see what they have. It's not far away from the recycling centre so I can do two jobs in one trip.

Other than that, I suspect some batch cooking and general cleaning will be the order of the day.

Have a good bank holiday. xx

:hello: Goooood Morning fellow OS’ers :D:D:D

Happy Bank Holiday Monday to all :D

    Welcome to OS Crutches :hello:

    Happy Birthday SOMO1 :j

Snowy – sorry to hear you had a blue day yesterday, hope you find that smile today.

Pen Pen – Hadn’t heard about that man; strange fellow! No one forced him to spend, but it does show where his priorities *really* lie!

Amie – ((hugs)) hope you find your smile too. Your neighbours would have found theirs if you’d gone out in the garden ;)

PF – enjoy your batch baking; what are you making?

N9eav – hopefully the next BH will be yours for double bubble ;)

tired mum – enjoy Chatham :D

twink – oh your poor tree! L Hope it recovers.

cazziebo – typical teens, bickering. Yes, they do get through it and then they’ll be friends once again (just so long as one doesn’t nab the others boyfriend ;) )

Shez – ooooh Olympia sounds like it was a great day!! :T Try not to fret about the lack of email just now ((hugs))

jet77 – glad you managed to get a good nights sleep without interruptions!

Mrs F – hope you get a good deal on your strimmer and your cat goes from strength to strength

Jamie – great to see you again :j Very well done on your debt clearing :T :T

annie – congrats on your file clearing – four bags of shredding is a lot, no wonder everywhere looks tidier :D:D

I’ll be quite happy if it rains here too. I don’t mind grey days if they are productive, but it’s been grey and dreary without so much as a drip or a drop.

Going to make up a large SC pot of basic mince and freeze it down into portions, I’ve got quite a bit in the freezer in it’s raw state from reduced ticket buys and I really need to get them used up into something useable.

Going to go through the linen cupboard today; one of those areas that needs doing but because it’s out of the way, tends to get forgotten. I’ve got some lace ends that I want to decorate the shelf edges with – I’m in the mood for something girlie-girlie in the house  I get like that every so often; fed up with being in a male household and feel the need to assert my femininity. On Mothers Day, d11yo bought me a pink fluffy cushion and pink fluffy teddy bear for my room … he’d remembered me saying I have so little pink in the house; cute!

Planned in some meditation time for later; even with the best will in the world I’m juggling so many balls that I haven’t been able to donate as much time to it as I wanted, but I do feel I need the ‘lift’ that I get from it. And if it’s raining outside at predicted … even better! :D

Have a lovely moneysaving BH Monday everyone :D

    Morning all :hello:

It's raining here, at last :D The fruit and veg need a good watering. I'm hoping to see the pair of hedgehogs that live in the pampas grass, they only seem to wander round the garden when it's cool and/or raining.

I've got the whole day to myself woohoo-smiley.gif I've resurrected the meal planner so I'm going to write a shopping list based on that, I had a quick look yesterday and most of what I'll need is already in the cupboard and freezer so not much to buy this week.

    Happy Birthday stressedoutmumof1 :bdaycake: :D

    Good Morning

I'm up early to finish GCSE marking - only have the paperwork to do now, which is why I'm here early today, so that wont take too long

Snowy I agree shops should be closed longer so there's more family time. Being OS I don't encourage them haha
Penelope Penguin a polytunnel, you are lucky. It's the first thing I shall buy when I retire and have more time.
AIME399 dressing gown, I know! I leave DS aslep if he's had a bad night so I don't disturd him then wander up the garden or whatever and it's soon midday and I'm still in it.

OS for me today - I'm putting another load of rhubarb outside for passersby to take (for free) It's a shame to waste it
The alottment must be dug as I've nothimg new in it yet this season, just the last of the broc and leeks.

Looking at the cats bowl I think we've had about 1/4" of rain so very little use.

    Have a peaceful day
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me
