Morocha, I'd look online for breastfeeding advisors, some people here have used them with success. The one sent to me by the HV was useless, but there are private professionals that apparently are very good and will probably help you. I think you pay a bit, but if she will sort the issues, then money well spent!! I cannot remember who used them here.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

morocha - your HV sounds HORRENDOUS! If there is a genuine case of someone feeling down in the dumps and wanting help to improve the situation like you clearly do then she should be supporting you! You are unhappy because the baby is unsettled which is perfectly understandable but she should be helping you with ways to settle the baby which is through bottle feeding by the sounds of things -not telling you the baby is copying you being miserable. Ooh I'm so mad on your behalf! Can you get another HV? Have you been to a baby clinic to get her weighed? The HV at the baby clinic here is different to my "usual" one (although admittedly not much better). When I speak about breastfeeding and how hungry the baby is they always come back with "growth spurt" - like you - she must have been having a growth spurt since birth!!!! Hope you have a more settled day today xxx big hugs xxx0

Could I get some advice regarding car seats? We have one of those that you secure in the car with the belt. I find it a pain in... well, there. Our belt just barely goes around it and it takes a lot of fiddling around to secure the thing, and I never get the feeling it's properly secured. So I would like to get one of those that you click into a base that remains in the car. Any recommendations? Is there any travel system with a car seat that does that and lasts for over 12 months? There seem to be a lot of discounts at the moment with the end of the tax year, and I'd like to see if it's worth to buy a new travel system (under £300 on offer) if it gives us a click in car seat plus rear and front facing pram; or if I should buy a base and a car sear now, then a car seat when she's over one. Our current travel system costed £60 on extreme discount offer from Boots ex-display, so I don't feel I'd be wasting much!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

To be honest, since she messes me around with not being on time or just cancelling, i have mde a point not being here the last two times she came. she is in charge of the baby clinic, she is the same lady i had with dd1, but luckily i never needed help with dd1. OH has said to just say thank you very much but i do not need any help anymore, just to go to my gp and get referals.
The other hv in my area is even worse, when talking about Jade crying and not sleeping much she said : well she is just been naughty, i will not say about leaving her to cry it out put cos iam sure you have tried thatt but do not worry, we will get to do something to shup it.
I will get my thrush sorted and ask my gp to refer me to a lactation consultnt in the hospital to check for a tongue tied, i will not ask hv any help as i am tired of the -Yes is normal, looking at me like i am some sort of weirdo that expects a perfect child and no giving solutions/practical help. I find more help online and in forums that with her.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

Marta i have read very good reviews about the maxi cosi plebe and cabrio together with the isofix. I know maxi cosi do prams too. I have a quinny 4 and im delighted with it but i live in a rural area and it is a bit big, im planning on getting the quinny xtra zapp cos you can attach the maxi cosi on top of it too also it is suitable from birth. I bought my quinny off ebay and saved loads.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Morocha - you may have tried this with bottle feeding but has someone other than you tried to give her the bottle. I know you say she is unsettled with others but is there someone who could have her for a couple of hours with some formula as when you feed her she may be wanting the breast as she can smell you. If someone else does it this may not be an issue. I know you can't do this for every feed, but if you could do it for one so you know she would take it, it may make it easier going forward. Otherwise I would recommend a counsellor, if you call the NCT (number should be in red book) they can tell you who your local one is.
Hope you get sorted soon0 -
mil has tried nd she takes it but then she cries because she wants cuddles with me.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

I'm a bit out of touch on the buggy front now, but the only car seats that go in any are the carry type ones, and unless your baby is tiny none of them last much more than 12 months. Baby here is 14 months and just beginning to grow out of her maxi cosi one.
After that you're on to huge bulky seats that stay in the car (because they weigh a ton and require an engineering degree to strap them in!)
Re buggy, if I only had one little one who needed one and didn't walk miles most days I'd have an umbrella fold stroller like a shot.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Just a quick one. A grew out his infant carrier around 8 months. He's not a particularly large child, infact he's quite small think (6-9/9-12m clothes at 14m) but his head was just popping over the top. So we got the a car seat that rear faced but is suitable until 4 and can be turned forward facing too, as he wasn't at the required weight for forward facing and is still quite light.
So to buy a travel system based on the car seat if you already have one could turn out to be a waste of money if you have a fast grower xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
