Well, we had our first outing without George last night (he's 5.5wks) & it wasn't too bad, weird but not too bad
I'd been invited to an awards ceremony for work so we left him with a friend who lives 10mins from the venue. We left at 19:30 & got back at 23:30! It was nice but I was definitely glad to get back to him & I have never been so glad to see my breast pump as when we finally got home at 1am
Oh my god, I have never had such ridiculously solid boobs, they were at the point where George wouldn't have latched on at all!
I hope everyone is doing well & LOs are doing well tooBaby brain has kicked in & I can't remember a thing I've read over the last pages, apart from the cat bowl & washing basket stories that made me lol because I think I'd react in exactly the same way!

Thank you for cheering me up ladies ...I think everything is getting on top of me at the minute, i barely see my oh, hes working at his mum most of the time then he sleeps in the couch cos hes terrified of rolling into her at night.n My thrush is so painful( i think this is week 3 or 4, as she feeds every hour the cream does not work) i do not want to bf but hey, there is no other way of calming her. Try bottle and she rejects them then take one every 1 hs and 1/2, only take 30ml then after 1 hs shes hungry again. Today i tried to feed her every 4 hs but she was so moody, spent the day at my mil and yet a lot of people willing to help, she will not calm dowm with anyone only me and my boobs, they are so painful i could cut them off !...
She is 8 weeks today and the plan is to go longer and longer between feeds so she gets used to the bottle but she drinks so little is ridiculous, onlyn30ml every hour! no wonder she sleeps so little at night,
Taking J out is difficult also, tho i do go out everyday if i dont bf and bottle feed before going she will cry all the way home plus as soon we arrive somwhere she wakes up and can not amuse herself so the easiest thing is to cry the whole time unless my boob is out.Im really down at the moment, no one can help me feel so lonely and to top it up is school holidays and im dreading my toddler wanting to go places because my baby as soon as she wakes up her pram, she cries!!
Im sitting here feeding no other way i would be able to be online.
she does not like mam bottles, i have some, shes ok with dr brown onesMejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

(((big hugs))) Hun I'm not upto date with the thread but have just read your post, so sorry it's rough at the moment but it will get better.
Can you get back to the drs re the thrush cream to see what else they can do to help? They should help you if you explain how difficult things are with the soreness. Has baba got thrush too?
So little sleep is really hard is there anyway that someone can look after baba for 3hrs early evening so you can get a block of rest eg 8-11pm hubby used to do this to try and help, before night time wakings.
I really hope you can get some help from your Gp and your family as well as here as we all understand, babies are hard but there must be a way of helping you make things a little easier.
Not sure but is baba ok with latch, not tongue tie etc making sucking slower/your boobs sore.

Another thing which may be irrelevant we did not use a dummy but would babba take one in the pram when she wakes? X0

:grouphug: morocha. Have you spoken to your hv about trying to get bubs on to the bottle? Don't really know what to suggest as I've not done myself I'm afraid. I'd definitely go and see your gp like Ro suggested, about the thrush, they might have another form of treatment for it. And maybe try and get a breast feeding support worker out to you for a bit of help?
And on another note (tell me to butt out if you like!) when you say your OH is working at his mums all the time - I'd try and get him to understand how hard it is at the moment and that you need him around a bit more just at the moment.Newborn thread member

^^ what Katiechoc said and especially re oh but obv don't know what he does/hours etc but if things are tough then he needs to help you x0

Yes, people have offered but she just cries and only wants to be with me; Oh feels pushed out because she only wants me and cries and screams with anybody else, he is also looking after our 5yo, he does everything for her, foods, school runs, changing, baths etc... as he can not watch tv with me or anything because i am always too tired, he has kept busy fixing cars and guitars, he is getting a lot of work at the moment. also many times comes in the afternoon and cooks for me.
Family had tried to help but Jade sort of scared them with her crying
She was taking bottles and was sooooo placid until last week she decided not to take anymore and we were back to BF every single hour, yesterday i got her to take bottles again but she only takes 30ml and then 1 hs 30min later she is hungry again but it will not take more even if i tried in one go.
RE trush, yes i am going to see the gp on monday and get some antibiotics as my nipple is cracked and i think i have an infection there. Baby is taking some drops too.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Ah ok, I got the wrong end of the stick and was thinking he wasn't helping out. My bad
Anyway, glad you've got a docs appointment. I'd still suggest speaking to a your hv for some advice on bottle feeding. Sounds like maybe she had a growth spurt that put her back on the boob after being happy with bottles. Would it be worth trying a bigger size teat? (I'm just throwing ideas around as I've no idea really)

Just wondering if baba might be having a 8 week growth spurt which would explain the recent more frequent feeding, I don't know why she would suddenly reject the bottle more this week but spurts do make them go cranky as well as feeding more.
Sounds like oh is doing what he can and it is a juggling act with work and a toddler but if there is something no matter how small I'm sure he will do it if it realises how stressed you are.
Glad you are going back to Gp
Really hope LO gets back on track soon and second what Katiechoc said about asking for support from hv

Seems Katiechoc has already said what I was mulling over !0
