But you know you're a good mummy for protecting him from diseases, don't you?

They all scream. I'm not making light of it - it is horrible the first time you take them, but it gets easier. IME, Freddie cried far less on the second and third times.

Hope he is ok now, you are not a terrible mummy at all. X

I have to book Noah's next jabs but he is poorly at the moment, not looking forward to it either!

I had the 12 week jabs this last Tuesday. I preferred the first ones! She just wants mummy and daddy cuddles since, she cried when anyone else came nearby, poor thing. I think she thinks strangers put jabs now lol. She also bled quite a bit, it went through both the vest and the sleepsuit despite the plaster! I feel so sorry! But yeah, it'sfor the best. However, she's having problems since to go to sleep, both at night and for naps :( she wakes up with anything!

my bubba will have the first ones when shes almost 10 weeks( shes 8 wks tomorrow), on the 4 th april, i need to keep bf 'ing till then cos i know that will calm her down.
since she decided not to take bottles again, we are back on feeding every hs(since last week) and a very grumpy baby, yesterday i took her to a shop to take passport pics and she cried so much it was not possible, J seems so anti social, when anyone wants to pick her up she just cries.
Im exhausted, did u enjoy your baby at 7 wks old? cos im not enjoying this at all, i mean i love her but shes so demanding and sleeps so little! still only sleeps 2 hs at night then another 2, thats it, 1 hs at the time till 8 and thats the end of it. i feel so stressed.

  • Second lot of jabs were worse for us, like marta, blood all over everything and no flippin' plaster. Nurse said "put her in red next time":rotfl:

morocha, sorry you aren't enjoying baba. tiredness does horrible things to you as I'm sure we can all attest. have you tried the medela calma teat for a bottle? it didn't work at all for us but is supposed to mimic the breast more - i think savage uses them if she is around for more advice? This little one seems to do things in 4 week cycles:
week 1-4 horrendous barely sleeping at night

week 5-8 - we got ~3 hour stint then every 2 hours (but could take up to an hour to settle her so hourly sleeps). feeds 30-40 mins long.

8-11 - getting a good 4 hour stint (increased to at least 5 when has a formula bottle at night - occasionally 7 but we never hope for this!). feeds 20-30 mins.

12-13 - waking up twice a night maximum for a 10 minute feed, straight back to sleep (feel like im jinxing myself here!) - usually has 5 hours stint, feed, 3 hour stint, feed, then I'm pushing it for an extra hour usually!

I also think as they get older they just get better at doing everything including sleeping. I think try and sort the bottle out if you can so someone can give you some help and you can have a break if you possibly can xxx big hugs xxx

(OK here's to a sleepless night probably :rotfl:)

Wow moneypenny, spot on with the 4 week cycle, exactly like that but bottle feeding here! Morocha, everything improved for us after week 7. The book "My baby week by week" says that crying peaks at week 6-7 and from then onwards it's constant improvement :)

Morocha... I think we'll all openly admit that we've had days where we really aren't enjoying our babies. If I can give you one bit of advice it would be to get out and about. If baby sleeps in the buggy/sling while you're walking then get out there! Time will pass quicker and you'll find that you'll feed much less.

The group of local mums on fb have been my saviour. We all agree that the best time to go out is around 11. We have a walk or go to playgroups. Have lunch and a chat. Don't get home until 3-4. Then, before you know it, it's time for food and the start of bedtime routines.

At 7 weeks was I enjoying my baby, NO. I hated it, he didn't sleep, he didn't eat very much, but fed often. It was exhausting. Hugs Morocha. I can recommend Mam bottles they are very good and the only type we could get our tongue and lip tied boy to drink from.

Hello everyone, Guess what, I'm going home for a holiday, yipeeeeeeeeee. V short notice but we are going Sunday, super duper excited.
