Ladies need some advice please!
Firstly me and Poppy are going to be making Easter cards on Friday, I was thinking of painting a stalk and using her hand prints to make the flower hand, I've never done hand prints before and can remember it being discussed on here recently so what is the easiest way and what type of paint should I buy? I want to use yellow paint to make daffodils!
Secondly Poppy has turned overnight into a stroppy, moody madam who has a temper tantrum if she doesn't get what she wants. There is no way I will allow her to turn into a spoilt child so was thinking of getting a book with ideas on managing behavior terrible two's - any recommendations? I'm always slightly worried about books as she is quite different from other children and her mind and body is much younger than her actual age, plus with her medical problems and special needs I don't want to expect to much.
Any ideas?
Thanks, xx:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Jannine, sorry I can't help with either of those questions, but I love the daffodil idea! On the book question, I don't know if you've found Bliss helpful at all and whether posting this question on their message board might yield some ideas? Apologies if that's not a sensible suggestion for whatever reason!0

I'll have to let you know how we get on, should be fun and I can see us both being covered in paint!
The Bliss idea is very good actually and not something I had thought off, so thanks!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

No idea on book recommendations I'm afraid jannine, hope you find something though. Re paint, at baby group we've used this type of thing http://www.amazon.co.uk/Early-Learning-Centre-Paint-Pad/dp/B0063DLVW4 although I've only managed George's feet - didn't even bother with hands as I could just see him sticking it straight in his mouth.
George just will not nap in his cot at the moment, he went batty earlier when I put him in it. Hoping its just a phase, he's asleep in his pushchair now so he does need the sleep - yesterday he slept for 2 hours in the pram! Hope he does again today, kettle is on and netflix is booting up so I can watch some telly while I iron.Newborn thread member

I remember flicking through my brother's copy of Toddler Taming and thinking it had some sound advice.
I guess it depends on your parenting style. What's noticeable about books is that, despite the style of advice - strict, permissive, attachment parenting, routine, etc. - the books all say 'My way's the best! You must do it like this!'. So if you find a book that suits your style, you'll probably love it to death. But if you find a book that goes against your instincts as a parent, you'll probably find it too prescriptive.
What kind of parent are you? Relaxed? Routine driven? Led by Poppy or do you like to set the rules? Try to work with your personality (and Poppy's) and find a book that suits you.
Link here to Toddler Taming on Amazon. You can have a look inside. I remember it as being 'no nonsense' but ultimately quite liberal so if this is your approach it's worth a look."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I'm a right hard !!! Fluff!! Only joking, we are very routine led really, certainly not relaxed, though hubby is! I might take myself to Waterstones and have a peruse through. Thanks for the link. x:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
