Ok, I remembered another question for you all...
DD2 has enlarged breasts which feel hard to the touch. I knew this was a possibility when they were born due to hormones, and the midwife has seen her a couple of times and was happy - said just to keep an eye to see if they become red (which they haven't). Any idea how long they stay enlarged for and if I should be concerned about them?
I think it was a few weeks that my DD had them for.0 -
Moving LO into his cot tonight, he's getting far too big for his moses basket. Fortunately the cot fits in our bedroom, I'm not ready for him to be in his own room yet, he's only 11 weeks!
He's that age now where he's interested in everything that's going on, but can't quite hold his head up (though he's getting there) to see. He alternates between his playmat, the carrycot on the pram and his bouncer, but I think I'm going to get some of those wrist and sock toys as he's absolutely entranced by his hand waving in front of his face! Will wait and see what he gets for Christmas. Is it bad that we haven't got him anything? My mum has given us a huge bag of presents for him. It just seems a bit pointless to buy presents for the sake of it when he's too young to know what's going on anyway.0 -
Well, what a difference a day makes! My stitches feel a hundred times better now. I haven't even had any painkillers today and I feel fine. 2 large stitches camr out earlier so I presume the pain was the last stages of healing. Feel a bit of a fraud now getting them checked but I guess its better to be safe...
DD also seems so much more settles with her nasal drops. Think they are helping her :T
Thanks for the advice of her enlarged boobs. The first site I read said it should only be 2 weeks but other places have said a few weeks or even months is normal. Just have to watch out for redness or oozing stuff which is all fine for now.
Lobey, have you given any calpol to LO? Its suitable from 2 months and helped DD1 with her crankiness after jabs. And cuddles help too. Hope she feels better soon.
Tiny - I've only got 1 present for Dd2 from us but I couldn't resist it! I also had to do her a small stocking with a book and couple of rattles as Dd1 has been asking santa for things on behalf of Dd2. Very sweet of her to think of her sister though
Did you ladies know I've started a facebook group to share pics etc? If you want to join just pm me your email address that you log into facebook with and I'll invite you. Seems a safer way of sharing pics than on an open forum as only people who are approved can join the group.Married my lobster in July 2011
TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait
 2013 is going to be our lucky year :dance:0 -
lobey, hope she settles in the newt day or so.
Tiny, we've got T a stocking of presents (only a normal stocking size), random little bits, like a set of plastic balls. But nothing big. Glad cot fits in your room, T was in with us until he was 7 months old, a really easy transition into his own room at that time, and I don't feel I have to keep checking on him. We don't have many fancy toys (nothing like wrist toys, as his hand is exciting enough ... and socks... wowee! They're brilliant when you're a baby)

My DD is 8 weeks & is now in the travel cot in our room.
I moved her from Moses basket to crib to give her more room but found that she got an arm stuck a few times when doing windmill impressions.
We went away for a few days & needed travel cot, she settled well in it so gave stuck with it.0 -
congratulations Abis! take it easy, rest as much as you can. I look back on those first few weeks and realise what an idiot I was - I did far too much when I was in a lot of pain!
LO will be using his travel cot tomorrow night so I hope he likes it.
Merry Christmas to everyone! (just in case I don't have time to say it)0 -
Hi all sorry I have been MIA for the last while, DH is on leave from work so have been running around getting sorted for Christmas.
I have read back but I can't remember what I was going to reply but
Oscar a massive congrats on the weight gain well done!
Abis welcome i am glad stitches are less sore!
AFM we are doing well, DS seems to be back to 2 night time feeds which is great as I was beginning to lose the will to live with the lack of sleep. Having DH at home is very helpful as I get a bit more of a break. Looking forward to Christmas x x0 -
T has always slept well in a travel cot, you'll be fine.
Can you believe Christmas is the day after tomorrow?!! It's definitely got a different feeling this year. I'm excited to see how T likes seeing all his new things (well, I say all... we've not got him much, but I'm sure he'll end up with loads!) and watching him scoot around chasing the paper (I've used thick metallic paper on purpose as he can put that in his mouth without it just disintegrating straight away) and we've purposely not arranged too much for Christmas Day so we've time to enjoy it, not rushing to dress and feed T to get to places.
:xmastree:
Happy Christmas to you all if I'm not back.

I can't remember exactly how long my little girl had them for but I do know at her 6 week check they were back to normal. I also remember my midwife telling me not to be worried if I changed her nappy and noticed a bit of blood in it as some babies have mini periods. That never happened though, but was glad I was told as I would of panicked.
Cannot believe tomorrow is Christmas eve, my little girl was 11 weeks old yesterday. We took her to see Father Christmas, completely for me really as I wanted a photo as a keepsake. Hubby wasn't bothered but was then happy I kept bugging him about it now that we have a photo to treasure.
Can see lots of photos being taken tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.
Have a lovely Christmas everyone xMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
