Apologies if tmi but my bleeding has been getting less and less, however today it's suddenly got worse again and is quite heavy. I have not done much at all, mainly cuddling my baby so I can't understand why it's worse? Is this normal?

It happened to me but I was told by my mw that it could just be a period starting again. I startedthepupill shortly after so I dunno if it was or not.

I would assume it's period starting again.
Mine haven't restarted yet, been since July 2012, might forget what to do!

Thank you for all your advice ladies.

I rang 111, and the out of hours doctor rang me back and advised me to get checked out at minor injuries at the hospital. Was expecting it to be manic as it was mad friday yesterday, but thankfully not too long a wait and the good news is that they aren't infected and are healing nicely. The nurse said I had probably strained them slightly, and that the type of ones I have this time can take a few weeks to dissolve (must have had the different type last time as they were all gone within 2 weeks at the latest). She said if they were still causing me pain after the new year that I could have them taken out. They recommended cocodamol and ibroprufen in the meantime and I can use E45 cream apparently.

Feel a lot happier that its all just 'normal' healing - but it is more ouchies than I was expecting! Especially as last time my tear was worse, but it was less painful and healed quicker.

I asked at the pharmacy whilst getting the cocodamol for DDs snuffles and she has given me the nasal drops like you said Claree. She said the vapouriser wasn't recommended just yet. She seems to have slept a lot better since I have given her a couple of drops so fingers crossed they are helping her. Am not used to seeing her unsettled - shes such a content baby normally, we have been very lucky this time round :o

DD1 sucked her thumb which I used to think was soooo cute and was quite smug about it as she could settle herself in the night without me having to put a dummy back in or anything. Only she is now 7.5 and still sucks her bloomin thumb! So now I don't like thumb suckers! :rotfl: I have been through it lots of times, and to be fair to her she has considerably reduced her thumb sucking - but its not something you can go cold turkey on like you can a dummy! So this time I will be definitely sticking with dummies if I can. DD2 seems to like her dummy so far, so fingers crossed she doesn't become a thumb sucker too... :o

Kscarlet - my bleeding comes and goes still. Some days I haven't had hardly anything on my pad and then it can all come back again the next day. I didn't have a period for 9/10 months last time and I wasn't breastfeeding - but they can come back after 4 weeks or so even if you are breastfeeding. So I guess it could be either and just for you to keep an eye on.

Ok, I remembered another question for you all...

DD2 has enlarged breasts which feel hard to the touch. I knew this was a possibility when they were born due to hormones, and the midwife has seen her a couple of times and was happy - said just to keep an eye to see if they become red (which they haven't). Any idea how long they stay enlarged for and if I should be concerned about them?

Glad all is well abi :) we went into town a week after Eilis was born and we did a fair bit of walking - nothing huge though - and I was in AGONY that night, I honestly couldn't move without hurting, I thought I'd broke myself :rotfl:

Thanks all, is it daft that I had completely forgotten about periods after a 9 month break?! Lol! Last time I didn't have a period for months but I was expressing however I'm just FFing this time. Makes sense, as my stomach is quite crampy too. I suppose I should look into contraception :s definitely enjoy not worrying about that when pregnant, not as though I have any plans to dtd for a while! Feel a bit stupid now! I blame lack of sleep and a toddler who doesn't stop talking... and xmas shopping disasters!

Abis hope you all feel better soon xxx I'm not sure about when the effects of hormones wear off newborn. Are you seeing a HV/ MW anything soon to ask? Sorry I'm no use!

I did exactly the same, but at 3 days old! Was too keen to show him off. Definately made my recovery longer.

    Hi everyone :) x

Hope you feel better soon Abis. My midwife told me to have two tea tree and milk baths a day and that seemed to get them healing faster. Definitely an excuse to take it easy ;) Still have a grumpy girl here 2 days after her first jabs :( Screamed all afternoon on Fri, then slept for 12 hours! Yesterday she fed for an hour at a time and today only 10 mins on her last feed and very upset. No temperature though so I'll guess we'll have to ride it out, poor bubba.
