Do you have a walk in clinic you can go to tomorrow? XDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0

For me it was around a month before I could sit without wincing etc. I struggled to walk really, it was horrible. I used to sit up on the bed after a shower and let air get to my bits, it was heaven. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

I had an infection which got me re-admitted when LO was six days old, got serious when it didn't respond to IV antibiotics. I'm pretty sure you can phone your midwife, even if it's slightly past being discharged and they can sort out for you to be seen at the hospital.0

I don't know if the midwives have a drop in centre on a weekend or not. I have been discharged. Not sure who is best though as a midwife or health visitor wouldn't be able to prescribe anything i wouldn't have thought. I think theres an emergency docs surgery down at the hospital on a sat morning but not sure how it works. I have an antenatal phone number from where I gave birth, which is around 45mins journey to if they wanted to see me.
It is mainly after going to the toilet I decided after thinking about it, but in the night it took a long time for the pain to go and I couldn't sleep. Its v itchy and I'd just like to sit with a cold compress on it so try and soothe the itching and pain.
I hope it doesn't last a month gilly
In baby questions then, dd is very snuffly and seems to have a snotty nose. Is there anything I can do at 2.5 weeks? I know vicks on the feet and vapourisers can help snuffles but not sure what age they are recommended from... She was quite unsettled yesterday evening and in the night but I think she was struggling as she likes her dummy and didn't seem to be able to breathe through her nose when sucking it.Married my lobster in July 2011

Hey abi - congrats on the lo! We got a nasal spray thing for Eilis when she was about that age - naosal possibly? Really helped.
Although your midwife can't write prescriptions, mine could phone the doctor and request one for me so I didn't have to make an appointment. I dunno what degree my tears were but they were bloomin' horrendous, I was on cocodamol for WEEKS to just be able to function!
Thanks for the birthday wishes all. Eilis slept normally on Thursday night and she was staying with my friend last night, now wondering when it's reasonable to text and check how she is without looking pushy lol.
I'm considering trying to wean her off the dummy - it's usually what wakes her in the night, looking for it. I'm gonna start with daytime naps and see how I goMy Debt Free Diary

Abis my little girl is also full of cold (just over 3 weeks old) apparently Vicks isn't recommended on their skin until they are much older. A friend recommended elevating her Moses basket and taking her into a hot steamy bathroom. It's horrible when they are so young
DD loves having a dummy, my son was never interested. I'm hoping to wean her off them when she's a bit older but I'm not ok worried yet xTrying to save for a deposit

Abis you can get a saline spray or drops for her nose, they can be used from birth, also there are room vapourisers that are suitable from birth (I think calpol do a plug in one or boots do some drops that you put in a bowl in baby's room - 4little1 I think is the brand).0

Like Tiny said, saline spray.
I got this when my little girl was 3 weeks old as she had a really snotty/blocked nose. She didn't like the spray at all, would make her cry when I used it but then not long after it would clear her nose for her and she was a lot happier.
You can also use a towel under the moses basket mattress to prop their head up a bit. My health visitor told me this and also said I could use olbas oil drops onto some tissue and attach it to the top of the moses basket or side.
Propping the mattress up a bit though really helped her and she slept a lot better.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Abis, you can get some bath stuff that has menthol in it, it's like having a bath in Vicks but not as strong. We found this helped our lo. It's called snuffle bath, in boot, a bottle with purple writing.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0

Apologies if tmi but my bleeding has been getting less and less, however today it's suddenly got worse again and is quite heavy. I have not done much at all, mainly cuddling my baby so I can't understand why it's worse? Is this normal?Trying to save for a deposit
