    Evening all :)

Babamoose no need to worry about popping in for a question. Regarding breastfeeding dresses, wrap or crossover style dresses work quite easily. In the summer I also wore a strapless maxi dress with a cropped cardi over and found that quite easy as again could just pull it down but because of the cardi didn't feel too exposed. I don't tend to wear dresses too often, but Jojo Maman Bebe is a store you could try - they do some quite flattering nursing tops I've found

Continual well done on your first night alone :) Glad LO was a good for you

claretsgirl I am loving being a mom; it is the best thing I have ever done. A is keeping me on my toes though - she started crawling 4 days after reaching 7 months. Also, as she lulls me into thinking we've a routine, then changes it! She's into everything now and I spend most of my day chasing after her. Her favourite game is trying to catch the cat... who's not impressed that "the baby" is on the move!

fluff glad that you're feeling better today

Made (some small) progress with OH this morning; LO woke at 4:45, chattered to herself until 5 when she started crying so I went into her. She was wet so changed her, fed her... but she thought it was playtime. Took me until 6:30 to get her back to bed. Anyway, when she woke again at 9, I woke OH and sent him into her. Then told him to change her and dress her as I'd been up with her for 2 hrs in the night and was going to shower. Hehe apparently she'd done a nasty dirty nappy :rotfl:

Anyway, have some wrapping to get done. Busy couple days ahead as we're away for a few days later in the week

    Night all x
  • DDB looks like a BFP to me, especially if it appeared in the time. Congrats.

Saf, can't help with the nappies, I think boys and girls wet so differently. If any leaks T will be at the top at the front, we did find that going bigger didn't always help, must a change of design / fit.

I too use wrap around/cross over dresses as nice nursing dresses. Mostly if they're jersey type, there's enough stretch to pull them down. I've smart shirt dress too from Boden, button down. (do tend to use my bf cover for that one as it flashes a bit when I'm feeding).

Oscar, just wondering how the weigh in went? Xx
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.
  • Thank you for the replies :)

I'm not a dress wearer myself but have been invited to a couple of weddings etc. which has thrown my wardrobe into turmoil!
Will have a look at wrap style dresses, didn't even cross my mind..!
  • Baby slept all the way round London, safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas lights (well I did anyway). He only woke up when we went for food and was fascinated by all the fairy lights. He had lots of cuddles with my friends which was lovely.

On the train on the way down to London he was quiet and quite happy, a few people came up to me afterwards and said how well behaved he was - pure luck at this age I know, but was still my first proud mummy moment! On the way back, I was just getting us settled and this older guy came up to me and said "Will your baby be quiet on this journey?" I was a bit surprised and just said "no idea, can only hope for the best but he was on the way down." He was a bit a*sey and I can only assume that he thought children shouldn't be allowed in first class disturbing his journey. As it was, baby was awake for most of the trip and gurgling and chatting away to himself quite happily which I think annoyed him a bit but he couldn't complain about it.
  • Hi Gilly

Thanks for thinking of us. The weigh in is tomorrow so fingers crossed! LO has been feeding lots though so hopefully that is a good sign. Is anyone else combination feeding? I have to admit I don't miss bfing her directly: it's a relief not to have to wrestle with her and to learn her 'full up' cues. I don't think the poor little lamb knew what a full tummy was til this week :(

Hey ladies :). Everything crossed for you Oscar. Let us know how you get on.

G has entered a new phase of independence - won't go in the pushchair even when he's too tired to walk, I have to wrestle him into it! God know what passers by must think but there's no way I can carry him as well.

Does everyone have nice Christmassy plans for the weekend? I was going to take him to see Father Christmas but we saw him at the children's centre party yesterday and he didn't seem too impressed!

Not seen sunshine for a while? Hope you got moved ok if you read this!

    Ahh thanks!! :)

Babamoose, good luck with the dress hunt :)
Tiny, glad the lights went well. I love those mummy moments when people compliment your child, a certain joyous smile comes upon you doesn't it? Even though you know it's pure luck most of the time! Boo to the grumpy man in 1st class.
Oscar, glad you're feeling more comfortable with the amount LO is feeding, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Just watching Kirsty's handmade christmas. Loving the day by day tie dyed pants, but don't think I've any friends or family that would thank me for them as a gift!

Think I've identified what makes LO face all blotchy. Tomatoes, but also wool. He no longer wears his wool onesie, but our carpet has wool in it and all he does most of the day is scoot around on the floor, so by the end of the day looks a bit irritated. Can't really put a floor cloth covering the whole of the carpet as he crawls to the edges and lifts it up! hopefully he'll grow out of it. We'll just keep using the Aveeno cream.
