  • Hello all,

Good news on the house katie, I wondered where you had been.

Thanks for the advice ladies, I think he's going through separation anxiety at the minute so I'm not contemplating controlled crying. He's also getting his helmet on Monday so I want to see if that bothers him before I put any sleep training into action.

So please excuse me if I have a moan that im tired lol! Looks like we'll be sharing a bed with a lo for a while :)

Lo met my dad's dogs today, one barked at him a bit but he didn't even bat an eyelid which was good. He also put his arms out to me for the first time which was very cute.

15 sleeps to Christmas ladies! Santa's comingggg :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!

Try dentinox colic drops - they were much less harsh on Eilis' tummy than the infacol x

  • Nessie I completely understand where you're coming from with the smoking issue. My MIL chain smokes and refuses to believe that second hand smoke harms a baby - she says she smoked around her own children and it "never did them any harm" (OH, her son, has had chest problems) and that cars produce worse pollution than her smoke. She thinks I'm just being difficult (OH agrees with me but she thinks the sun shines out of his ar*e and I'm the evil DIL turning him away from her). At the end of the day she's the one missing out because we don't take LO round as much as we might otherwise. I've been blunt and honest and that way she can't say she didn't understand. I think all you can do is explain what you think and why you think it, and acknowledge that she may not agree but it's your child and therefore your choice.

Survived the drive to see family, LO slept all the way, both ways!

Thanks kscarlet. We've had Thomas checked over by the doc today, just in case.

Well, hubby went back to work today which meant that it was my first day on my own with baby. It went ok!

I don't blame you Vic I would have a LO checked over too. Well done on first day alone I had 2 days last week as OH was on a course. I've only managed a couple of hours with both kids, I'm finding the baby a breeze (at the moment!) but my son really hard work :( I know it's a massive change for him but I'm struggling to cope with both on my own. In the new year when OH is back to working away I won't have any choice and will have to cope.

Thanks Claree I will pick up some dentinox. She's managed to keep a couple of feeds down today but we will probably have another sicky night.

  • Ks- we had trouble with ds bringing up wind and he projectile vom'd quite a few times. Gripe water is good for a good old belch, altho think its 4 weeks it can be used from. We used to sit ds upright on my knee, hand on his chest and the other on his back and rocked him gently back and forwards, used to really bring the wind up and was a technique the mw showed me in hospital. Vic-hope you re settled back in after your gas scare!xx

    Evening ladies

Trying to complete a job application for employer whilst continually having to get up and chase after my escaping little one is "fun"! Her crawling speed has gone up a gear. My car also took me to Sainsburys today :o oops, but they did have some lovely bits for LO :o

Nutella sorry but that did have me :rotfl: My LO has an obsession with my phone case? No clue why! Lol, thanks for the discount code... I am stepping away from the computer as soon as I've posted this :p

KScarlet hope that things get easier with your little girl's wind soon

MrsH we all have a moan if we're tired. Everything is easier when you're not tired! I've been complaining about sleep - and then the reason appeared... her first teeth! Hope that you've a good night tonight. Bless, how cute that LO put his arms out for you!

Vic well done on your first day alone :T Glad that you've been able to return home at least

tiny courageous Yay for baby sleeping well in the car :D

Benice glad that you enjoyed your night out; I've still not had a night out on my own, or even longer than an hour out and LO is almost 7 and a half months! Mind you, I don't mind at all if I'm really honest

katie Yay for having an offer accepted! Hope that it is smooth sailing to completion. I'm all done with Christmas shopping - I was late getting done this year (for me); only finished it late November. I'm usually done by early Oct  I HATE busy shops with a passion though

Regarding controlled crying, it's not advised before LO is 6 months old. It's not something I'm comfortable with at all - I believe sleep is a developmental stage and it will be reached. (even though I complain too about bad nights).

nessie LO is YOUR baby so your rules. Be firm and consistent and I don't think you're over reacting at all. I won't even visit people who smoke in their own homes, no way would I let someone smoke near LO.

delain and minimuffin hope that you have better nights tonight

AFM, I've a question for those with LO's with teeth. A has her bottom teeth appearing. They've cut through the gum (appeared on Sat) and getting more visible each day. How long roughly till they're all the way through?

Good night all, sweet dreams to mums and babes x
