I feel the same BeNice! I clean once a week, I get one night 'off' if I express a bottle and that'll still take until 10pm, and each evening I pass her over and dash around finishing jobs instead of putting my feet up! They just don't get it :(

Hi all hope everyone is ok x

Hugs Bangton I can't imagine how hard that must be xx my son has a dairy allergy as soon as he was prescribed a formula he was much more settled. He was also allergic to soya so it might be worth asking your GP for allergy testing. It took 3 months of hell for my GP to finally realise what it was despite me telling her! Xx

Vic so glad you had a better night, these early weeks are exhausting but give it a few weeks you'll both find a routine x

Little miss slept fairly well, consistent 4 hourly feeds. Midwife has just been and is concerned as she's lost weight so I need to feed her more frequently. I think it's mainly due to sickness but thankfully that is easing. Can't believe how exhausted I feel, I'm sleeping in 4 hourly blocks at night which I'm v grateful for but I feel like I haven't slept in weeks!

    I've been Money Tipped!
It is hard trying to make our OHs understand that we don't just sit at home and eat cake all day. I still EBF and never expressed (just never had the opportunity or need to), so T will always need me every 3 hrs or so ... but that doesn't mean he can't take him off my hands inbetween (grr) He had him for a couple of hrs on Wednesday, and the house was a tip, and he couldn't do anything (he only wanted to try on some new trousers!). I think he's starting to realise a LO is quite hard work. But the evenings and mornings are my domain, he won't give those up, he needs his rest, he's a hard working man you know!!?!??!?
Sorry for those who's LO's aren't weighing well. I'm due to take T next week (we're on 2 monthly weigh in's now he's 7 months) a little nervous as he hasn't been weighed since we started BLW, so I hope it's gaining enough.
House smells like Christmas, I've a turkey in the oven and smells lurvely!

Sainsbury's clothing offer is back - 25% off everything until 9th Dec :)
  • Thanks littleemmie, it's good to hear other people's experiences, and it is something I will persist with. We went to our local bf group today (the leader knows us well by now: bf has been a bit of a saga for us!) and she thinks perhaps LO has suffered from the late diagnosis of her tongue tie and has not been able to learn how to latch deeply enough so feeds by sipping not sucking. Whether or not she has an intolerance is something else and may be compounding things.

The bf support worker has asked the area supervisor to contact me as she may know better about combination feeds. I have a feed in hand for now but will try her with a formula top up again when we run out. In the meantime another weekend of heavy duty expressing beckons. Christmas, what's that? ;)
