That sucks Clare, I'd do what Katie has suggested and try and do the Friday night instead. I remember someone said to me before I had A, prepare to be everyone's last priority now your a mum and it's so trueThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

I hadn't suggested it as such but we have gone out the weekend of the birthday for every birthday (for both of us) since we've been together, it's not a new thing. We're going to go out on the Friday but he doesn't finish work 'till 6 so it'll just be dinner and then home, I was hoping to maybe go to the cinema or something?
He said he thought we'd just do something on the actual day but again he's at work and I don't really want to take Eilis for dinner with us 'cause I can't relax properly.
It's done now, I had a moan about it last night but it is a bit annoying that I'll be spending that night on my own.My Debt Free Diary

that's rubbish. Since my OH started his new job he's got so many social things to go to and it's horrible sitting in on your own a lot never mind on your birthday.
I done nothing for my birthday this year, it was almost like it wasn't acknowledged in here at all, and I felt so miserableThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
OH and I have been in different countries on at least four of my birthdays - last year we were together all day as I was on maternity leave and he had the day off, and he forgot! I burst into tears in the evening and the following day he brought me flowers and perfume. It was nice that he wanted to make it up to me, but it felt like he did it out of guilt. This year he was abroad and forgot again (I spent the day trying to work from home whilst LO was having tantrums), so I had planned to not mention anything to see how long it would take for him to realise he'd forgotten. When he got back 10 days later and saw my new laptop, I stupidly mentioned (not intentionally) that it was my birthday present from my parents... He was very apologetic about forgetting, but he forgot nonetheless, and did nothing to make it up to me!
Needless to say, my expectations are *very* low when it comes to birthdaysHis own birthday means nothing to him, so he doesn't really understand that other people might actually care about these things!
Big hugs, Clare and Gilly x0 -
oh dear Claree, Nutella and Gilly your birthdays shouldn't be forgotten. My birthday is now 3 days before LO so I think it will be less special.
I've just bought a tuppence and crumble star wrap because LO cries so much when I put his coat on - I'll let you know how he gets on with it when it comes in the post. There's no putting legs and arms in sleeves etc. I got the footmuff to go with my pushchair (babyjogger city mini gt) but worry that he's still cold in it in the evenings and during buggymovers.0 -

The star wrap is so cute!
You and your LO can have big joint parties until he's old enough to find it embarrassing :cool:0 -
By the way - I've introduced my LO to Baby Vuvu, and she's in love! She's just watched it five times in a row whilst I got some work done
Thanks to whoever posted the link - I think it might have been IHateDida?...
Yehay! It was me! My LO has a daily dose! Its rather fab isn't it! *I still can't post smilies* :-( So pleased she likes it! Mine sits there tapping her foot to it and its hilarious watching her!0 -

WOW! Aren't they fab! I would love one for LO but she is getting a bit big - she also hates having her coat put on!
We had our first night out at the start of the week without LO - we dropped her off at a friends. She came back so hyped up that she spent the whole night drumming on the travelcot with her feet in the hotel we stayed at! But luckily she is back in her mega-sleeping ways (I am sooo lucky - she got up at 10.15am this morning...and so did I!). I am guessing this will all change soon (although we are still waking her up feeding and nappy changing at 11.30pm) - although I would of course love it to continue!
We went swimming and had to get out early as LO was hungry (she'd slept so long at midday we didn't have time for a bottle before we left!). Went for coffee with a friend and she had knitted these absolutely gorgeous boots for her (2 pairs of!) and they actually stay on (miracle!). So a good day for us!
Just had a catch up read! I agree about the satchel - bright is good - no dull neutrals!
Does anyone know how I can get the ability to post little smilies again???? (I am lost without them!)
Edit - as well as baby vuvu - LO loves this (I hate it!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byScdHbEwHE0 -
Hey guys
Hey SammieAiden has an inhaler and mask too. Katie, we do the same and pretend to do it!! Tbh the only time I can give it him without a tantrum is when hes asleep
Re birthdays, hugs Clare, Gilly and Nutella. My OH has never forgot but its pretty certain what I get as he is not subtle and is not one for thinking on his own, he asks what I want and then he buys it. Sometimes I wish a bit more thought went into it, for his bday I got him a mug with him and A on for work and other bits and bobs but he doesnt really think of things like that.
I loovve that star blanket wrap thing! I actually had one when he was born off my sis, and I am ashamed to say I never used it as I couldnt actually work out what to dowish I had though. I kept it so Ill know next time.
Ihatedida, Im not sure about the smileys, mine are still there. Mega jealous of your good sleeper!!!.

Morning ladies,
Sorry Claree on your birthday plans, but you have us to keep you company on the night if you want? Babble away and we shall reply.... Hold on... Your not the baby, I mean talk away
We went to the drs a couple of weeks ago with lo having a rash on his face, we were told it was eczema and given steroid cream. We used that and double base and pretty much got rid of the rash but on Monday it flared up again looking so nasty, I haven't changed anything. And he has been so off for the last couple of days with a cold and now I think teething! I just don't believe it is eczema.
I'm putting my Xmas tree up on the 1st, sad I know but I did it last year and me and oh loved feeling xmassy so early on. Think I have bought all I am buying, I told everyone that we're not buying for anyone this year what with me being on maternity since jan, I'm not exactly rolling in it. So I've bought 4 DIY baubles that have photos of lo in and can be changed every year, and photo cards to give to the important people.
I've only bought for my oh and my lo and oh parents.
Off out for lunch today with a friend, so because I'm having time to myself oh has to when I get back? Never mind he goes to the gym 3 times a week? Anyone else's oh this silly?
Off to work, enjoy your days ladies
Btw that star wrap looks awfully cuteNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0
