So we've bought some sparklers for tonight. I'll just let Charlie look from the garden/window at other fireworks if he wants. I'm sure its going to be a long noisy night ahead.

In other news, he's teething again. Looks like a bad one. He woke up screaming in pain last night, so applied bonjella, gave him some warm milk, and put him in the spare bed with me. Seemed to do the trick x

That must have been scary continual, I'm glad everything is ok with Scarlett though.

I'm having real trouble feeding LO, she has screamed since 6am and won't stop fussing when I try to feed her, taking a few gulps and coming off screaming or about to while I wind her. So tempted to just go and buy some formula to be sure of what she's getting, but I've got through 18 days of bf so far and I hear babies can go through a growth spurt around this time? She also seems to have reflux and brings up a lot.of her feed sometimes hours after a good winding. Just not really sure what to do for her!

Fussing is something they do sometimes, if she's going through a spurt, she could be attempting to increase your supply to meet it. If you're worried I'd phone LLL (La Leche League) or BfN (Breastfeeding network) Also maybe seek out a support group near you :o

I wouldn't worry about her bringing up the feed, she's maybe just being greedy and then what won't fit in just comes back up :o

Lobey the milk may just be coming out too fast for her, have your tried feeding her side lying or changing the hold? That way excess milk can dribble out, maybe put a muslin cloth down first. I love feeding ds lying down its so much more relaxing for us both.
  • Hi all, please can I join in.

Had my little boy, Noah, on 9th Oct. First baby and have to admit to being a bit overwhelmed at times. :o

All has been going well up until the last 48hrs. But now he sounds a lot like Lobey's lo. Fussing lots, feeding for 10min then coming off crying and is really difficult to settle.

I think it's probably a growth spurt as his feeds have become closer together and more frequent. So tired, actually burst into tears during one screaming fit. He's now asleep on my lap and I daren't move.

Had him weighed on Friday and he'd put on 2lbs since birth.:T

Looking forward to joining in and sharing lots of advice, tips and chat

    Welcome engagedlady, congrats :D

Lobey could it be the let down is too quick for her just yet? (Sorry, I'm waaaay out of touch on how old, gender etc of everyone's LOs!) you could maybe try and express a bit at first to relieve the pressure so it's easier for her to latch?

Enjoy the fireworks mozzy, hope Charlie likes the sparklers! I've not done anything, we'll watch out the window if there's anything to see though.

Got a first viewing on the flat booked for tomorrow! Got to get cleaning and finish painting the doors - easier said than done with a toddler on loose ...

    Hi ladies!

I have come on here as I have a confession..... :(

We have been to see a friend today and throughout the 28 mile car journey home, LO cried the whole way home. I even stopped and changed her nappy in a layby as I thought that was the issue....but it wasn't.

Anyway, she wouldn't stop crying (tried sleep and bottle and another nappy change) so I have put her in front of the cartoons on CITV....we never normally let her see any TV....but nothing else would stop the tears....and now she is blowing bubbles and chirping to herself! But god I feel bad for putting a 4 and a bit month year old in front of the TV.....
    How bad am I.....???!!!

Oh....and I have also found she loves this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx5BUbiIXFw (warning....you will be hearing it in your head all day! LOL!)

Thanks guys for the advice, I'm just finding it hard since my hubby has gone back to work, and all her habits have suddenly changed! I do think I have quite a healthy milk supply which may be slightly drowning her, but she's usually happy to start off feeding, but a few minutes in will start choking and then not want to go back on after extensive winding. I'm just being a worried FTM! Will see how she goes tonight and if she's trouble will hit the breastfeeding clinic tomorrow and see if I can get some advice. Engaged lady I feel the same a lot of the time, it can be heartbreaking to hear a newborn's screams :( but sometimes they just have to exercise their lungs!
