Hello!
Since the arrival of Mr. Jack Matthew on Saturday night I'd like to join the forum please!
He is having some issues with night and day and getting them the wrong way around (light = sleep, night = wake) but he is only 2 days old, so I'm forgiving at the moment...0 -
Boob night milk is supposedly the best quality and when your supply is at it's most plentiful, so even if you formula feed it's built in new borns to wake more at night
Probably not the best thing to hear :rotfl:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Dida, im joining the bad mummies club with you in that case, tv favs are henryhugglemonster and mickey mouse clubhouse.lol I think he likes the colours and motions, he doesnt sit there constantly, we do get out! Btw thanks so much for the burts bees advise, used it last night and his scalp wasnt as dry, yay! Smells delish tooMum of 2 :j0

she wouldn't stop crying (tried sleep and bottle and another nappy change) so I have put her in front of the cartoons on CITV....we never normally let her see any TV....but nothing else would stop the tears....and now she is blowing bubbles and chirping to herself! But god I feel bad for putting a 4 and a bit month year old in front of the TV.....
How bad am I.....???!!!
On a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is 'not bad at all' and 10 is 'very bad', I'd say.... 1!I've done this too - in fact, nursery rhymes on YouTube is the only reason I get any work done at all on my working from home day. Yes, I swore I'd never go down that route, and I used to think that parents who put their children in front of the TV for a few minutes' peace/to be able to do some cleaning/to get some work done were being lazy and/or unimaginative. Now that I actually have a child, I know better. It's a life saver, and I even think it's perfectly OK as long as it's an occasional thing and for short periods of time
*....running off to hide... :rotfl:*0 -
Welcome and congratulations to engagedlady and BabaMoose0

Well we have the TV on loads, he doesn't ever really watch it but it's always on in the back ground. We do something special one on one almost every day, today we made biscuits
and we eat our breakfast and lunch together and we read and play. So it doesn't bother me.
I could be doing a lot worse imo.
Mickey Mouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates are the favourites here.
P.s Nutella, just saw your review for the wellies on the MC website, I'm tempted to order them for A, even though they're apparently girls? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
You ladies make smile, feeling like bad parents for your lo watching tv, on a morning we put fifi on for him and peppa pig which he watches while having his bottle. He's too busy rolling, trying to crawl and screeching to care what is on for the rest of the day but he does however recognise the theme tunes to the soaps! Do I feel like a bad mum? No, because I'm always sat on the floor with him showering him in kisses and playing with him.
Give yourself a break, sitting your child in front of the tv all day long with no other stimulation is bad, 2 minutes while you get something done is not.
Welcome to the newbies, enjoy your first few weeks.
Been to get lo weighed today, 9kg now, looking at the next stage up car seat, anyone have any favourites?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Oh thank you peeps! You have made me feel a lot better about the TV....plus....I feel like I could burst....as I have just had an email from Appletiser saying that I have won £100 pre-paid visa card in a competition I entered with them a few weeks ago (and I'd forgotten about!)....so maybe my confession worked and I have been forgiven!!!! I never win any competitions!
I am absolutely over the moon - £100 is a lot when you are on maternity leave isn't it....and we're off to London to see the Christmas lights in December so it couldn't have been any better timed! So happy! :j:j:j
Minimuffin - so pleased to hear Baby Bee stuff is working! I can't stop sniffing it either! They also do a no-talc Talc which I am tempted to buy as I love the smell so much!
*off to enter some more competitions in case I am on a winning streak.....* :rotfl:0 -

Me too about the SMP thing.....I had my last 50% week in last month's pay and from here on it will be SMP and then 3 months of absolute nowt..... I am saving our family allowance too, trying not to spend any of it as I would like to use it to take LO to Disneyland when she is about 7 or 8. OH doesn't earn as much as me either so its gonna be a shock! I reckon most of our house will be on Ebay soon.....!0
