Started my shopping in general but not for Eilis. She'll only be 4 months old so I'm not going to go mad. Will get her a wee stocking with her name on it with a few wee bits but I'm looking forward to when we get to do proper ChristmasMy Debt Free Diary

Afternoon all. We have done some halloween(ish) baking today, crispy cakes with spiders stuck in, and biscuits cut out with Halloween cutters
I think A enjoyed himself.
R.e Christmas, we have bought a few toot toot things, happy land train set, books, pjs, a toy dyson and an aqua doodle. My Dad has bought toot toot stuff and a cozy coupe. I think my Mum is buying the ikea kitchen. I cannot wait either :j I think he will be so excited on Christmas morning. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
We've got LO some Disney blu-rays as they are on BOGOF at the moment and they'll last as she gets older, a talking baby Minnie mouse, a Lamaze activity puzzle and will probably pick up some 6-9 month clothes. Not buying too much as she won't know the difference.
Friends and family are asking for ideas - any recommendations for a 6-12 month old so toys will last until her birthday? We thought maybe a push-along walker?0 -
A push a long walker, fisher price bounce and spin zebra, and I love the wooden activity cubes. We also love the fisher price cookie jar hereThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Brilliant news Oscar, I think you're almost on the cusp of when breastfeeding is supposed to get easier, so well done to you both
Sounds like you've gone through a lot of hard work to get there! xx
Well I thought I would post back with an update. The lovely NHS lactation consultant thought there may be a bit of a residual tongue tie so she snipped LO again. There hasn't been much much further improvement and more tiringly it seems to be time for her 12 week growth spurt, sigh. I think I will have to try feeding her more expressed milk as the hourly grazing is wearing me out and her poor napping and crankiness is bothering me and I think tthey're probably related!
On On the other hand as an eternal optimist I keep wondering if it will come right by itself in the next week or so? I know a lot of people say they find a big difference in babies after the 4th trimester. Any thoughts?
BTW on the windiness thanks to all who replied: changing position didn't help much but I upped her infacol and it's helped a teeny bit.0 -
Midwife signed us off today, baby's put on 1lb 5 oz since he was last weighed. I'd forgotten the midwife was coming, to be honest, I was sure it was next week. Ah well, good job the weather was rubbish so we were in!0

Evening all.
Day 2 for me of not getting dressed. How is it that you can have a really good day (Sunday) and then 2 rubbish days???
Sunday was great. I was on a high with how well it went. We managed to be out the door and at our coffee catch up on time in the morning with the other 3 couples from antenatal class.
Scarlett was perfect, had a small feed whilst we were out but wasn't fussy and never cried. I then went to a craft show with a friend leaving her with daddy for the 1st time for a few hours. He got on really well on his own and Sunday night we had a good night with her.
Then yesterday and today I haven't been able to do anything right by her, she has constantly wanted to sleep on me and when she has its only been for an hour max and then is wide awake for ages but is tired and fighting the urge to sleep.
Will admit her increase of times crying today has got to me and whilst rocking her from side/side with saying 'shhhh' which she does like as it eventually soothes her I had my moments of tears going down my cheeks.
Just when I thought I had things sorted so to speak I now feel it's gone backwards. Doesn't help that I ended up with a slight infection in my c section wound either so now on a course of antibiotics and then had the daft idea yesterday of starting the diet to get the 3 stone baby weight off.
Think I might need to hold off on that for now as just seems too much to do at once.
Hoping for a better day tomorrow, though am at the dentist to sort out my toothache that I've had since July as they wouldn't xray due to me being pregnant. But actually looking forward to it as want it sorted.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Really feel for you CD - I remember vividly standing swaying with Eilis and I think I was crying more than she was sometimes. She's had an odd day today, started really well but got very cranky this afternoon. Fell asleep in her bouncy chair so I think she was just over tired. Left her with OH's aunt for an hour so I can go to college and oh can go to a job interview.
Having a nightmare with someone sending me a refund on eBay. I bought a phone and she'd put the wrong network in the description so I asked to return it. She agreed and then the cheeky sod tried to demand that I sent it special delivery. After 3 days she asked if I'd posted it and I said I'd not had the chance but I'll do it within the hour and she tried to cancel it 'cause I was taking a "really long time" 3 days, really? Anyway, she confirmed yesterday that she got it on Saturday and would refund me "this week". I asked her to refund within 3 days as per eBay policy and I got a snarky message back saying "don't tell me ebays policy, I've got eyes to read for myself" - how rude!!My Debt Free Diary

Oh no!I'm a big believer in the fourth trimester theory and I do believe some babies take longer than others to adjust to the outside so to speak
Probably not the best thing to hear but if it is a growth spurt try and feed direct from the source, as baby suckling is what increases your milk supply, something that even the best of pumps can't do. Early Hours of the morning feeds are when your milk is at its 'best'
Another thought I have had is reflux, reflux and tongue tie do go hand in hand in a lot of cases, reflux babies will feed and feed and feed for comfort, they also want to be held upright all the time and don't tend to lay flat in there Moses basket/cot. Do any of these sound familiar? They also don't tend to be brilliant sleepers.continualdiamond wrote: »Evening all.

Try not to panic! I think they like to throw you off guard once you've had a good few days. Do what you can to get through the day. I used to put him in the pram and walk (I had a winter baba too) put the rain cover on and wear a hood yourself. The crying isn't as loud outside, and generally the rocking sends them to sleep and getting outside with some fresh air really does do wonders for your mind and sanity. Massive hugs though it's a trying time xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
