Welcome Cleofish! I'm awful for getting on here nowadays, but wanted to echo what Gilly said. You soon find a routine and your confidence builds, which in themselves, makes it all so much more bearable. I used to get things ready the night before for the morning. As much as you can anyway. And set myself up by the tv with everything in grabbing distance - drink, snacks, phone, remote, muslin, pillow.

Best wishes to all the new mummies xx

Morning ladies, hope everyone got atleast some sleep?! I'm up, showered and waiting for the wee man to wake. Even if it means getting up at 6.30 I love the mornings I get few minutes to myself before switching into "mummy mode". :)

What's everyone upto today? My mum is staying an extra day so not leaving til tomorrow. Think we might take him swimming again :D

    Morning all :)

Katie, hope G is a happy little boy today.

LO decided she didn't like cereal this morning, but other than that she seems fine albeit a little clingy and attention-seeking (so no change there!). It's my day off today, so am planning to take her to the library to pick up a new pile of books :) Also need to get some more milk and yoghurt for her.

    Hope everyone is well x
  • The only problem is they have told me I cant lift the girls for a couple week  How the heck can I get by without lifting them? I can help them climb up and downstairs but they cant climb in and out of their cots themselves! Apparently, if I do too much it can cause a hernia. Which Granny has after her gall bladder op and now she needs a 2nd op to sort that out

If you're having keyhole then I was told not to lift LO for about four to five days and try to have a lot of rest. Consultant said if I was working it'd only be two weeks off work as fairly minor op. Maybe it's longer as yours are older though. I'm dreading dealing with LO more than the op itself!

Morning ladies, hope all is well! I introduced myself nearly 10 weeks ago now and then went awol. Eilis will be 10 weeks on Saturday, where does the time go??

She's doing really well. Self settling at night and sleeping 'till about 4.30am but recently I've been struggling to settle her after her night feed - any tips? She dozes off on my tummy but as soon as I put her down she's whimpering and thrashing about. If it wasn't the middle of the night I'd maybe leave her and see if she'll self settle but OH has to get up for work so it's not really an option.
  • Katie & cake4brains- -thanks, my gp didnt seem to think he has it as there is no clicking and said my hv is known for going on about the creases not being symmetrical but he has been referred for an ultrasound anyways. Hi claree, my lo always fell asleep during his 3am feed so cant help sorry, does she use a dummy? Time does indeed fly by!

    Welcome cleo!
