I know, haven't seen some of those names for aaaages. I wonder how jannine and Poppy are doing these days.
Mozzy I agree, even with his temper and totally mystifying mood swings this is my favourite age so farCan't wait til G starts talking too, at the moment pretty much everything is da da.
we went to the big leisure centre this morning, loads of sprinklers and little slides. He loved it, even though he did get dunked by accident once or twice! And had a highly unhealthy wimpy meal for dinner afterwards. Naughty mummyNewborn thread member

Evening all
Mozzy, we're good thanks!
Katie, I often think of Jannine and Poppy too and wonder how they're doing. And the lovely Ro and her little man, of course
My LO isn't really talking yet (that is, she talks loads, but no actual real words!), but it still amazes me just how much she's able to communicate. 'Mah!' is 'more', so that means 'more food please', 'another song, mummy' or 'no, I don't want to come out of the bath', depending on context. She nods and shakes her head (the latter is accompanied by 'no!' - she hasn't quite mastered 'yes' yet), and 'dede' means someting like 'I want that' ('that' being whatever she's pointing at). She understands most basic instructions and questions now, which means that we're actually able to communicate :T And she's sooo proud of herself when she understands something and then complies with my instructions - e.g. when I ask her to put her shoes in the hallway, she'll run off, put them down and come back and clap for herself:rotfl:
I do agree that this is a fun age, despite the tantrums and mood swings0 -
Rebecca keeps having screaming fits when I change her nappies, any ideas to keep her settled whilst I'm changing her?
!
I bought some peelable black and white stickers off Ebay that I have plastered on the wall next to the changing unit - these keep her amused - even now at 4 months she smiles at them - they look rather random but work for me! These: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/36-x-Black-and-White-Nursery-Dots-Wall-Stickers-/270950509770?pt=UK_Baby_Nursery_Wall_Decoration_EH&hash=item3f15e8acca#ht_1531wt_974
My item that I couldn't do without would be my Perfect Prep machine - it has saved me so many cries/screams - prepares a bottle under 2 mins. I also couldn't live without her lampshade - we call it the magical butterfly lampshade and whenever she has a screaming fit - we turn the light on and hit the butterflies and it makes a magical pattern all over the room which grabs her attention and normally calms the screams! This one (but we got it a bit cheaper): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Girls-Pink-Hearts-Butterfly-Ceiling-Light-Pendant-Shade-Ready-Assembled-/200969225942?pt=UK_Lampshades&hash=item2ecab306d6#ht_1395wt_924
Its funny finding out what works for you isn't it! LOL!
Minimuffin - really pleased to hear your LO is ok - HV's can be rather opinionated on things can't they - I hope ultrasound confirms they were wrong! x0 -
Evening all. Sorry not had chance to be posting much, it's just madness.
Hubby was back to work Monday after 2 weeks off and I've been struggling to find out how to do it all on my own, even more so because I had a c section and actually have a mild infection in the wound on the left side. Glad I went to the Dr though as actually thought it was healing nice as it became itchy on the left side, but when I had a look it was slightly red than everywhere else. So on a weeks antibiotics now.
I can't believe how much I don't get done in a day. Granted I don't do any of the household jobs at the moment but I mean stuff done in the day just for me. I'm amazed at how late I eat, had tea at 8pm last night, before baby I was like starving at 6pm and had to have tea by then. Same goes for lunch, had lunch at 2pm today, when at work come 12pm I'd be like thank goodness for my lunch break.
Also feel a bit of a slob some days, more so if I don't do my hair. Feel a lot better for just straightening my hair as daft as that sounds and actually did that this morning and instantly felt better.
Have come to know her 'tired' cry which makes me happy as feel like a proper mum for finally knowing something about how she communicates her needs. Have had a few tears since I've been on my own this week as feeling a lot of pressure for me to know everything and not have hubby here to take over for a bit.
Love her to bits though, her concentrating on my face when I'm holding her and little smiles I get when I talk to her is just fab. It's just hard at the best of times when things are going wrong to see any positives at all. I'm sure it will all fall into place.....eventually, hahahaMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Hallo all
I'm struggling with the time at the moment... It just seems to disappear! However, I've had my folks visiting for the last three months and they go home on Monday so have promised myself at least a couple days of just A and I next week to sit, read and catch up properly on everyone.
A decided we were getting up at 3:41 this morning... I'm off to bed! Night!0 -
Continualdiamond - I had sooooo many days where I didn't get dressed or bathed till late at night, all's I can say now, is don't worry about it, it doesn't last long, and you'll soon get into a good routine xDFD February 2012

I remember a particularly crazy week in the early days when OH and I had dinner at 11pm three days in a row. But that seemed OK at the time, as it almost felt like a routine - finally!

Just got out of bed due to her thrashing & loads of noises, cuddled her while her bottle was cooling and now she doesn't want it - not ideal at 4am! She's still thrashing about though, hope she grows out of this stage soon!
Do you think it's worth making a new list with active posters if that hasn't been updated since May?My Debt Free Diary
