I reluctantly give her a dummy. She's not that fond of it tbh but it works sometimes which is odd!

Another thing - she was quite colic-ey so I tried infacol but it was too harsh for her wee tummy and made her sick after/during every feed so I switched to Dentinox. She's been fine on that for weeks now but she's started being sick again, nothing like the infacol projectile vomit, but sick none the less. I'm beginning to wonder if she doesn't need it anymore and it's the Dentinox making her sick, is that possible?

Nessie - big hugs to you. Thank fully I have had a supportive OH who was thrown massively in the deep end when I was so poorly post birth. While in hospital he stayed over a lot and did most of the night feeds and walking around comforting baby (as I was bedridden)..he's also covered a lot at home whilst I've recovered. I know you were in hospital a while as I remember reading it. Did he not have to help out then thus understanding how hard it can be?

I think it's easy for him to say your not managing your time well but he gets to go to work and have normality - your the one working out how to adapt in this whole new situation. So many times people told me to nap when baby naps. I find that hard - I have bills to pay, midwives coming, health visitors coming, at the very least I've had to keep kitchen clean as it's where baby's milk is prepared so some cleaning does have to be done regardless of what anyone says!

So yeah I've tried getting my head down while baby naps but then a midwife will rock up or someone will knock at the door! Or I'Ll need to unload dishwasher and sterilise my bottles which takes up maybe 20 minutes of my 2hr sleep window so I feel too wired as I feel the sleep time slipping away!

So yeah tell him to b0llocks off! Or he could always switch for a day and see if he naps when baby naps!!!

Actually that's reminded me. Baby is currently sleeping in our room as recommended and OH is still off work until Monday (extended time due to my illness). So at moment baby crying and grunting in the night is fine as he doesn't have to get up but when he goes to work I don't know how to manage things as his sleep will be interrupted several times a night by baby! He hasn't mentioned it but I want him to be able to go to work as well rested as possible as work's bl00dy awful when your knackered! What do you all do in regards to that?

Thanks again girls - you so cheered me up! :D

Thanks everyone, had a chat with DH & he apologised, he is just going through a bad time at work & is tired! He is also worried that any habits (particularly bad ones) will carry on until later on & he will have to deal with it when he takes over (he will give up work & be a stay at home dad after 9 months)

I shouldn't moan about him really he has been amazing throughout everything - he does all the housework at the moment, he too was chucked in the deep end when I was in hospital for 8 days & has helped with lifting heavy stuff etc. I am amazed with how well he has coped even with OCD!

Rebecca keeps having screaming fits when I change her nappies, any ideas to keep her settled whilst I'm changing her?

Waitin for a phone call from doctor to talk about her nappy rash as health visitor reckons it might be a bit of thrush!

Good news though she has put on 11oz in 8 days! I must be producing sme good milk for her!

I was going to come and ask for some advice and realised other people are going through the same thing, its good to feel im not the only one!

Nessie- our LO has the same thing with the screaming fits when having her nappy changed or changing her clothes, really full on screaming fits, god knows what people think we are doing to her, good job we live in a house with thick walls.
Be good to hear as well what others have tried, funnily enough shes ok in the middle of the night when she wants to be awake and stare about but cries in the day?!

I also thought LO had a nappy rash and we worked out she would scream because her bum was sore and using wipes must have stung her bottom as it was sore so we have switched to cotton wool and warm water and she has been better on that, might be worth a try?
Turns out though it was thrush (LO was on antibiotics in hospital so not sure if its because of that) and the health vistor wrote us a prescription when she came around for a canestan like cream that women have, its cleared a lot since. She said normally thrush looks like little red bumps?

Hope you get it sorted quickly and 11oz is a good weight gain, we have the health visitor again tomorrow so hopefully we will find out if shes gained weight.

The nappy changing fits will stop in their own time I've found, all I could do was learn to change nappies quicker which probably isn't much help to you :rotfl:

Not sure if it is dentinox but our LO would also be sick, we started off on infacol but that didnt seem to work but ive since read it needs to build up in their system first. We have been on dentinox but stopped as the health vistor advised using the comfort and colic formula as its easier to digest and that might help, but the last night the colic symptoms have come back and I did give her some dentinox so not sure what to do.
Be good to hear of others experiences.

Had a missed call from docs & they have given me prescription for thrush treatment for her - not sure if that is why she screams! Her rash is little white bumps - might be something to do with me being on 3 diff types antibiotics for the first 2 weeks! (My health visitor said she can't give out prescriptions anymore!)

I have now switched to reusable nappies & wipes which I think are nicer on her skin & let it breathe more too - we also try giving her some time with no nappy on but doesn't always go well!

I'm glad to go through the same things as other people, I don't feel like I am doing things wrong!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi all,
Claree I tend to just sit on the floor, gently making shush sounds and rub T's tummy (only very gently with my little finger through the bars) until he drifts off if not settled easily after night feed. Normally no more than 3-4 mins.
T is back to sleeping more in the day. He's gone into his pushchair this last week and he's getting very tired as it's forward facing. Now he's got used to it will drift off in it, but initially would be so busy looking at everything he wore himself out!
Hope everyone well & welcome to the newbies, I think all your concerns are normal ones.xxx

Hi Mozzy! Hope you and your little man are well (apart from the tantrums) :) £55 cashback is impressive!

We good thanks!!! Ah loving this age I must say. 18mnths is just awesome. Being able to communicate a bit more, him understanding what we saying, and being able to ask him to do things. And he can say a few words now. So cute! Loving it.

Hope you both well!!!! How's everything? x
