Dizzi congrats on a bump that's still cooking
I've read soooo much as not been in in a while but to the user asking about baby and a course. My baby cluster fed for 12 weeks. Yes, 12 weeks. For 3 months, I spent from 7pm-10pm every evening with a baby attached to my boob. If he was not on my boob, he was screaming. Then randomly he just stopped the cluster feeds, went to normal spacing. (thank god!) anyway no way I could have got anything done during that time, just no chance.0 -
nutella and sunshine - thanks for the tips on flying with babies
I'll need to try him on biscotti. He doesn't get finger foods yet because he always tries to bite off big bits. About a month ago he managed to bite a big chunk of a hard raw apple and I panicked. Also tried him on steamed carrot but again he bit off a big bit and I just can't handle the stress - keep thinking he's going to choke. Why can't he take nice little bites?
Re affectionate babies - whenever my DH comes back from work my LO is full of smiles but when I came back home today after an evening out I got no smile at all. He briefly looked at me and then turned his head away.
We got two teeth today :j Over the last two days I could just see two white lines in his gums but today definitely felt a few sharp pointy bits :T0 -
Morning all
Silly moo, yay for teeth! Re. finger food - have you tried things that by default are smaller as well as softer, like blueberries, raspberries and banana slices? Also try the Organix carrot sticks or sweetcorn rings for a different texture - they dissolve in your mouth so there's no choking hazard. Pasta swirls are also good.0 -
It appears sleeping through was most def a one off...0

TBH, it won't hurt them, will it. I guess the guidelines just say not to because there's no point giving an unnecessary dose of something if you don't know that the jabs will cause problems.
I vaguely remember reading that it isn't recommended because it can affect the immune response, no idea if it's right or not?0 -

Found this study about not giving it routinely after an immunisation, only if it is actually needed.0 -

Thanks Nutella. I'll need to try the Organix snacks then. Didn't know they dissolved in baby's mouth.
Haven't tried blueberries - too scared of choking. Am I paranoid? Banana, pear, etc - I just hold it for him and let him bite. I make sure my fingers are blocking him from biting off too much.
Happy Women's Day, everyone!0 -

My doc prescribed the baby paracetamol when we went for the 1st lot of jabs, I didnt ask for it she just gave us the prescription as we were leaving, we used it after the jabs because the girls were very unsettled. Didn't use it after the 2nd as they seemed fine but this time they were unsettled again so just gave one dose.
Back into a routine today, the girls are in their cot having a nap while I sit with a cuppa and a bakewell tart :T. Wasn't a bad night really, they both went to bed at 9.30, took a while to get them to sleep cos of wind pains. Mollie was awake at 3.15 and was wide awake til 4am. I'd just got her to drop off as Amelia woke. She had a couple ounces of formula and fell back to sleep at 4.30. Then was back up at 6.30 with them both wide awake so had them in my bed BF while I had a little snooze
Can I just ask how old were yours when they stopped feeding though the night? We only usually have the 1 feed before 6am is that normal? According to Granny they should be sleeping all night long without feeds at this age :j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
