  • Freddie's getting very mobile. Sort of crawls but only goes backwards. Rolls a lot though and rotates on the spot which effectively allows him to travel in any direction (usually towards the hot radiator pipes :D).

When do they start cuddling you? Whenever I pick him up he squirms and squeals. I say 'LOVE ME! CUDDLE ME!' to him but he just laughs and grabs fistfuls of flesh and squeezes. Or gouges my eyes out and pulls my hair.

Is this normal for an eight month old or is he a sociopath? :(:D
My LO is 7 1/2 months and if she likes you she bashes you in the face. She also pulls hair if she can get hold of it DD1 still hasn't learned not to let her get hold of hers.

ohh btw hv has here yesterday and J is 8lbs 3 oz now, she booked her in for her first jabs for when she will be 10 weeks, dont know why so late, i have been reading about taking babies out into crowded areas(malls, church, restaurants) only after they have their jabs otherwise is dangerous for them to get ill. \dr also said if she has fever, the do a spinal block to take fluid from her to know the reason of it. im not explaining myself well but hope you get the idea. I have been taking her out almost every day for walks, thats fine he said.
Here the jabs are a fortnightly clinic and they won't do them before eight weeks so depending on when your baby is born, the first ones are anything from 8weeks to 9weeks and six days.

can not imagine how lovely must be to have twins, but absolutely exhausting too.

I have made progress today, dd took the new milk, hpp organic milk quite well and managed to put her down to sleep in basket twice today- she only sleeps on me or on the swing. i even managed to have a shower while she slept. Finger crosed she will associate the basket with sleeping and with being her bed, will see tonight how it goes...

Morocha I used to take the top off I had been wearing that day and put in the Moses basket for that nights sleep for LO. It took her a while to go in there, but, agree with others, they need to be warm and cosy (but not overheated) and I would just recommend trying over and over again, even if you end up taking them out, just try again the next night. You seem to have made good progress today though :D

The other advantage of putting your top in there is that if they are sick you don't have to wash the sheet and the top was dirty anyway :rotfl:

I can't remember anything that's been posted, my heads like a sieve these days but hope all the babies sleep well tonight xx

:rotfl: Babies can be such affectionate little things, can't they? My LO will scratch your face, pull your hair and try to stick her finger in your eye/nose :o

Off to bed in a minute, but before I go, here's a top tip: if you happen to have an opened bag of frozen peas, do not drop it on the kitchen floor. Ever.

    Good night all x

Our speciality is the finger up nose, bend slightly and scrape the inside with a razor sharp finger nail as you pull it back out manouver. If that fails then repeatedly smacking me over the head with her bunny is the other trick.

Poor girlie - I've now got - to add to the SPD which is at levels of being able to shuffle a few steps, unable to drive and not able to sit on the floor and play with her... rib pain! So I can't even sit forward on the sofa to play with her for long either! I feel like such a bad mummy - but hopefully at least it's the homeward stretch now... whatever happens we're at a better gestation than last time which is a huge weight off my mind anyway.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

Love that tip Nutella :) Although I'll probably forget it next time I have an open bag of peas!

We've had a good day today. George had his tongue tie snipped today. They did it in clinic with no anaesthetic. He was asleep when we went in, he slept through the consultant having a look at it, slept through being swaddled, cried when the consultant put 2 fingers in his mouth to move his tongue but the minute it was snipped & the consultants fingers were out his mouth he went back to sleep :) I was brave & held him myself whilst they did it & I managed to do it without crying myself although I couldn't look whilst they did it!

We've had a visit from the health visitor too, she weighed George & he's now 9lb 10oz so weight gain is good apparently & he's in the 50th so it's all good.

After all the positives though we had a rough night last night with him fighting going to sleep all night, drifting off & the minute you put him down, he'd wake up again. He did the same this morning too so that was a bit of a nightmare, meant I didn't get anything done this morning & we were still in jammies when the health visitor arrived. I have my fingers crossed for a more positive night tonight. OH is knackered having done a 7-3 at work today after a bad night with George & he's back on a 9-9 tomorrow so I really, really hope tonight is better although he's fighting it again so that doesn't bode well :( I know he'd settle if we had him in bed with us but I'm keen not to get into that routine when he's been doing so well in his sleepi mini.

Oh well, off to bed to see how tonight pans out. I hope everyone gets a good nights sleep & everyone's LOs play ball :)
