Lo been to have his last lot of jabs, screamed when he had them for but fine by the time we got to mils. Had dinner there and then went to mothercare and got some clothes in the sale and a new toy!
However I had to go to the drs too and I have tonsillitis, 5 days before the christening! I'm so annoyed.
Hope all Lo's and mummies are ok, it's rubbish being illNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Is everyone all too ill to post? Or just nothing exciting going on.
We've had a cheeky sleep this afternoon. T naps in the morning now, but maybe only has 30 mins or so throughout the rest of the day. Today I thought we'd use the relaxation techniques from baby yoga and he's slept for 2 hrs this afternoon (and now that I'd got everything done during his morning nap, I slept for 1.5hrs too).... lovely!
His little bit of eczema has got alot better today. I can thoroughly recommend Sudocrem mouse, it absorbs so quickly. (pricey though, £3.79 at Home Bargains ... £8.99 full price!, but £5.99 in Boots on offer at the mo).
Cake, hope things are better today & MrsH get well soon.x0 -
Evening all,
Rubbish that you're ill mrsH2b. I used to get tonsillitis loads as a child...it's horrible. I eventually had my tonsils out.
Cake, moneypenny could be right, white spots on the throat is normally a sign of tonsillitis.
Nothing really to report here, just thought I'd say hi. It's been really quite last few days, hope its not because I've joined!!!
Oliver has got more speedy with his crawling...he's into everything. He even pulled himself up the ther day. Going out to buy a stair gate this weekend.
Finally had our highchair delivered. Not overly impressed with John Lewis - it's taken 3.5 weeks from ordering it for it to arrive, we've been making do a with a travel booster high chair which has not bee ideal. We bought the east coast wooden high chair (adjustable so hopefully it will last a long time), but now kinda wished we'd just got that plastic one form ikea that everyone recommends.
Can I just ask what people do to stimulate their child? Now he's mobile, he doesn't really want to sit on my lap or play games with me....I know is should be thankful that I don't have to entertain him as much, but don't want his learning/speech to suffer. Am I worrying too much?? Being silly??

It's natural to worry. Every mother wants the best for her child. Just make sure you talk to him, about everything. What you're doing, what he's doing, what's going on around you. I'm sure you do anyway. Provided he's spoken to continually and directly there's nothing else you need to do to help his speech development.
As for learning, well he's doing that all day, every day just by existing! It's good for him to play alone. Don't sweat that you should be stimulating him - just being alive is stimulation enough for a baby"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Poor baby's still the same, crying and clingy with a temp of 101, she's dropping off to sleep for 10 mins here and there but that's probably cos she hardly slept last night and hasn't napped properly. Rang the docs and was told to give her Calpol and Ibuprofen and to go in in the morning. Never tried the Ibuprofen before, it worked a treat for about an hour, she was babbling and playing with her toys. Back to crying now, shes had about an hours sleep and just woke up. Managed to get her back down, for now. Got a feeling she will be like this all night. Feel so sorry for her
Might sound stupid but is this what teethings like? Do all the symptoms sound about right? Obviously never had this before. Mollies bottom 2 have sneaked through the last few days and she has been fine but no sign of anything on Amelia
Delain Im not sure it is thrush, they aren't patches that I saw, just a couple of tiny white spots on the gland bits at back of her throat. No other white bits in her mouth or anything
I don't think so, hun. I know people put all sorts of symptoms and even fevers down to teething but I've always been told that an ill child is an ill child and teething doesn't make you ill. Grumpy, yes, sore bottom, yes, but not a high fever nor other signs of illness, e.g. excessive vomiting, lassitude, rashes, etc.
TBH, it sounds like tonsillitis."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Oh cake I hope Amelia is better today, tonsilitus would've been my guess too, poor mite x
Hope you're improving Mrsh x
Nothing much to report here really, same old with us. Sleeping has gone to pot again with wake ups every hour last night being the worst of a bad few days but I'm pretty sure more teeth are on there way so we're riding it out and lil miss is having lots of 30/45 min naps throughout the day to catch up on her sleep.
Work return countdown is going far too quickly with less then a month to go but we're doing lots of fun things to make the most of my not being at work.
Hope everyone is well x0 -
Hey ladies
Cake, sounds like a throat infection or tonsilitis. Have you been to the GP?
