Hiya, been super busy with family visiting. It's kinda hard with the LO as he has been sleeping from about 8/9 for 4 hours then in chunks of 3 or 2 hours which is the best yet but cos we've had visitors ive not been able to take advantage of it!i keep thinking, 'if only I'd gone to sleep at 9!' Instead I'm waiting up til the next feed. But OH has been taking over in the mornings, I love having a bit of sleep then waiting to see what LO is wearing!ha. It was a pj top and joggers the other day and a brand new, unwashed outfit that's a bit too big yesterday!bless him. Out fave outfit at the mo is a little Hawaiian shirt from the next sale with jeans, so cool! Sorry to hear a few sicknesses around, cake4brains hope LO is better by now. Outfit sounds lush mrsh, I defo could not pull that off at the moment but u love the look. I have just pegged washing out, how times have changed!

Morning all :) Hope everyone is ok!

We just popped out for a walk there and I nipped into Disney Store, my LO is obsessed with Bruce the shark from Finding Nemo and I managed to pick up a hat and a little pair of sandals with Bruce on them for £2.39 each so will pop them in his Christmas stocking :o

I have booked the van and ferry for the big move so will be doing that in less than 2 weeks  suppose I should try to get the packing finished.

Best get started on the pasta sauce for lunch, now my little pasta hater seems to like it now :o

  • Thanks dippydooda, Amelia is tons better today :j. Still not 100% herself but almost there and she slept lots better last night. Mollie stayed at her Grannys again but will keep her home tonight and hope they both sleep well cos I need it desperately :rotfl:

I love waiting to see what OH dresses the girls in too! I gave him free rein the other morning (not that I'm a control freak or anything, he's just got no dress sense whatsoever when it comes to the LO's haha). He put them some red trousers on and a pink and red top that still had tags on that I was saving til they grew into them cos they looked huge. And they fitted perfectly! So was a good job he dressed them really as by the time I thought they would fit, they would have been too small :rotfl:
Can I just ask what people do to stimulate their child? Now he's mobile, he doesn't really want to sit on my lap or play games with me....I know is should be thankful that I don't have to entertain him as much, but don't want his learning/speech to suffer. Am I worrying too much?? Being silly??

I would love to know the answer to this too. I find that they will sit and play with toys all day long, and don't really want to be on my lap as they have much more fun things to do! I do try and talk to them as much as possible but tbh I'm usually busy with one of them or the other and worry they are missing out

    Hi everyone,

Been a super busy week again so far, I received a letter from Noah's paediatrician today regarding the next step they want to take. It says he has severe speech delay and minimal social skills. They want to look into autism already. He has been referred to Portage who will come out to the house to try and help him. :(

Hope everyone else is ok. X

Aw hugs Sammie. At least they're getting involved early on, that'll probably help.

Re stimulating your child, I actually think that playing is more educational than might be immediately apparent. Watching my LO play on her own, I've noticed that she spends a lot of time trying things and figuring things out - putting small items into larger containers, or stacking them, shaking them to see if they make a sound or banging them together or on a hard surface to see what happens (will it make noise? Will I be allowed to carry on or will someone stop me from bashing the TV with a piece of Duplo? Hence learning about boundaries and consequences). Doing all those things, she's also developing her motor skills and coordination skills. Add to that the times we join them to play, all the nonsense we talk to them about all day (OH was telling LO how the boiler works when she was a week old - and she seemed genuinely interested! :rotfl:), everything they learn whilst doing everyday activities like eating, and I'm pretty sure we've no need to worry. It's taken me a while to realise this though, so I can identify with those who worry :o
