Hi all, I'd like to join in please! I was a regular on all the pregnancy threads but since having my LO I just haven't found the time to post! My little boy is 10 wks old now after being 5wks prem due to me getting pre-eclampsia. Was in hospital for a week and then moved house 2 days after getting out of hospital so it's all been a crazy whirlwind. Anyone else with a baby around the same age? would love to share advice/tips/experiences. I am combi -feeding but thinking bout packing in the BF due to baby not letting me have any sleep!!

To those looking for plates/cutlery. I swear by the Oxo Tot Range but it can be very pricey. I got a plate, lidded bowl and spoon and fork from TK Maxx today for £9.99 which was a bit of a bargain. The plate has a lip around it so it's harder for them to chase the food off the plate when using a spoon and with the lip the cutlery sits over the edge nicely without falling it. Overall a very good set I'd say.

Welcome Dippy, the sleep does get better lovely, fingers crossed it's soon for you, if he doesn't already maybe consider a dummy if he wants to be latched on all the time.

Got even more stuff packed today, my house is beginning to look bald :o

Congratulations! And I hope the pre-eclampsia wasn't too frightening. I think you're wise to just write off the next six months (or even a year!) sleepwise. Babies just wake up a lot. Fact. And there's no guarantee that he'll sleep any better if he's exclusively formula-fed. Breastmilk really is best for him so if you can keep it up and get your head round the sleep thing, you'll be doing him a big favour.

    What's your little one's name?

Hi, he is called Hayden and he's fab but hard work at the mo! I know I think i'll be sorry if I stop BF-ing and it makes no difference to his sleeping at all. I do enjoy it and know it's good for him. Just after a feed he doesn't settle well in his crib and then is awake 2 hours after the start of his feed so I am maybe getting about 4 hours broken sleep a night zzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks gillyx, I have been trying with a dummy but he spits it out, think perhaps I left it too late as he seemed fine without one!

Ah it's so hard in the early days, we fed breast milk for 3 weeks and then switched to formula, and I didn't feel sleep was any better at all, but they are all so different. How are you feeding him, are you topping up with formula at each feed or are you doing some feeds BM and other feeds formula?

Could you maybe feed breast all day and switch to formula at night, if you're not doing that already, it probably won't do brilliant things for your supply but if it enabled you to continue a bit longer, any little helps :o

My lo did this in the early days - my oh would get up for his bottle I would feed him and then he'd struggle to get back to sleep so I'd rock him etc and he just wouldn't sleep so sometimes he would go from one feed to the next with no sleep - in the middle of the night! My oh would get up for his next feed 3 hrs later and I'd have red eyes, trying to keep myself awake lol! So I feel your pain I really do.

Make sure you get a nap during the day when you can otherwise you'll be running on empty soon :)

Welcome dippydooda :) congratulations on your LO. I have an Aiden, so we rhyme with our LO's names!! Lots of lovely ladies who will give you loads of BF advice here. Good luck hun xx

Had some really good news today, the house we origonally were going for where the lady pulled out, well she called her agents today to say she was moving in with family and is in a position to move again if we were still interested!! We definately were, as we had spent money on the fees, searches and valuation fees so we can effectively just jump straight back in :jonly issue is that our buyers pulled out a few weeks back so now we are stuck trying to find more buyers, we have dropped the house the the minimum we can take so fingers crossed! I am so excited though. :)

Application form is 75% complete, due in on Tuesday so I am planning to get it sent by the weekend, Monday morning at the latest. As I know if I keep it till the end, I will end up changing bits and pieces and regretting it.

    Hope George is better katie.

Sammie, I got some munckin bowls in home and bargains.
