She's been in the bathroom sink on her own, yeah. Going to try bathing with her tonight when OH is home, I'm too wobbly still to get in and out the bath on my own let alone with LO.0 -
We started giving her an evening bath from the day we got home from the hospital, so at 3 days old. In the beginning it wasn't always at the same time every evening, and to be honest I think it was more for my own sanity (getting some sense of routine and order when everything else was chaos!) than for LO's benefit, but we stuck with it, and bath, milk, bed is still her evening routine. She's now 14 months, so we've added a bedtime story, and we also tidy up the toys together before she has her bath at 7pm.
She started loving her bath from when she was around 2 weeks old I think. Prior to that she'd just scream, so OH would bath with her - I couldn't as I had a c-section scar to deal with. I took her swimming from when she was 4-5 months old, so she got used to water from a young age. She's now splashing away like a pro! We still use the baby bath with a sponge support thing from Mothercare, but a lot of toys have been added since those early days0 -
Daddy cut the skin of an orange segment & I let him suck on it a bit, realised he'd sucked a third of the orange away, stuck a finger in his mouth to rescue it & it'd gone! He's clearly ready so we're going to try him with bits starting over the next few days
Any tips on baby led weaning for us? And can someone link me to that recipe for porridge fingers please? I'd like to have a go with them
Hiya Mrs_B, I recently found out that your not supposed to give citurs fruit till around 12 months I belive is recommeded.
I did look into it because my little man loves orange juice and some mothers have said they have been having it since 4 months with no problems whatsoever but reactions have basicly been really runnie nappies and the orange acid 'burns' thier bottom leaving really bad nappy rash from the ones that havn't been able to take it. (Its hard on thier little digestive systems apparently)
Just my experience is my 10month old basicly did about 6-7 poo's in one day and they were all basicly water like...
Probally won't be trying him again for a while, just wanted to let you know anyway.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
So what is the weather like for everyone?
We had thunder this morning but it wasn't directly over us so we just had a little rain, then it perked up and now it's back to cloudy again. I still have the fan on in the living room so it's not that cool!
I can't wait to see the prince! I'm not even much of a royalist but I've gone a bit cooey over it lol!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

I'd recommend a washing up bowl. Small enough that you can manage on your own, put less of a balancing act with the height of a sink and taps.
I've been discussing bedtimes here myself. LO now 11 wks and his bed routine started really in the 1st couple of weeks, first swaddling and now into grobag and set up bedroom at about 8.30 ish (room lights off, waves sounds and colour change light on). Then I take him down stairs lounge lights off, but TV on (only low volume) and he has final feed anytime between 9-10 and then drifts off & I'll put him in crib. We all go to bed at the same time at the mo.
(Although for the past couple of nights he's not gone down til very late, but I'll skim over that).
We don't do bath at night time. OH only gets in from work at 7pm or later, so by the time we've had tea and often we'll do a walk round the block in the evening (both trying to trim down as he's put on almost as much as I did during pregnancy), it's close to 8.30 wind down. I like to do a bath every couple of days as a bit of a daytime activity... find myself looking for things to do with T in the day.

Weather is similar here MrsH.
Raining with thunder this morning, now really sunny, but really muggy. I coped better just sunny heat, this is all sticky. Find that breast pads, nursing bra and top makes for too many layers on my top half.0 -

Lil miss has a clementine/satsuma type fruit every day and we've had no problems at all, think every bubba is different so it's a case of trying and trusting your instincts whether it's effecting them or not.
I'm not sure we really have any sort of routine here at all, I tend to follow Shays lead - dinner is any time between 5 and 7, she has a bath afterwards as she's usually covered in what she has eaten and I moisturise her and stick a vest on afterwards, sometimes she wants a feed straight after and falls asleep, other times she wants to play for an hour or 2 and then is ready to settle down. I drive our hv mad as she's big on routine and I really am not lol, we've gotten to almost 8 months and she's happy and thriving so will just carry on going with the flow I think0 -
Hi everyone, thought i would pop in- my little boy is 17 days old. Very interested in the bedtime routine chat. Luke tends to stay up with us until quite late, snoozing in his chair. Am hoping that in a few weeks time he will go longer between feeds and can put him down earlier. Thanks for the tip about the washing up bowl lazywife, i haven't mastered the art of getting a good hold of him in the baby bath and he wriggles so much and is quite slippy, it scares me!Mum of 2 :j0

I'm the same, my lo told me when he was ready for bed because he started rubbing his eyes at 9 and then a few weeks later it was 8. I think sometimes its easy to forget that they are human like us, would we appreciate someone putting us to bed to sleep when we weren't even tired and wanted to play lol!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Really? I didn't know that. Freddie's been eating satsumas all day every day since he was about six months!
Not that I think you necessarily need to follow 'official guidelines' but they can be useful so I've linked to the current ones. They say citrus fruits are fine from six months onwards.
