With you 100% on that Fluff. At the risk of sounding like a miserable cow bag I'd really like it if it wasn't quite so hot tomorrow!
Hope everyone else is enjoying the weather more than me!? We finally filled our paddling pool this afternoon so G managed to cool off for a bit at least.
Hope you have a better night Nutella, I don't know how you do it with work and such bad nights.
Glad Mollie is doing better now Cake, hope the weather cools off a little for her sake!
Fingers crossed you have another good night Saffagal!Newborn thread member

Saffagal - that is brilliant. I remember that feeling the first time this one slept something that resembled a proper nights sleep. I woke my husband up to tell him
(it was about 5am - he would rather have stayed asleep :rotfl:) she didn't do it again for ages, but the next time she did it she kept doing it and suddenly it got more and more and more. She is currently 8.30-6 a feed then another 1.5-2 hours. I honestly never ever thought I'd see the day!
Fluff - With you on that though its been cooler here the last two days, Monday and Tuesday of last week were unbareably hot.
Delain - Poor you! Hope you get some better snoozing tonight!
Nutella - Do you have a cot wedge for your little one, when mine had a cold I kept thinking a cot wedge would have helped her sleep better as she kept waking herself up choking on all the rubbish.
Cake - Glad Mollie is on the mend. Thanks for the post re: lullaby and putting them down awake. We have a lullaby machine which does help when she is snoozy but is useless when in wide awake but sleepy mode.
Katiechoc - I love a good paddling pool! Have you got a baby one or a big one? We have just blown up the baby one but it has provided endless hours of fun even without water in as we put ball pond balls in for her. It has been great for her as she has learned to sit up this fortnight so if we put her in there and she "forgets" to sit up, it isn't quite as painful as faceplanting the floor (obviously with no water in!).
As for us, I don't know if we have turned a corner or what. While I was lying in this morning (what is this "lie in" I speak of?!) OH decided it was naptime for little one as she was having a moan and rubbing her eyes, put her in the travel cot awake and 20 minutes later she was fast asleep for an hour having only whimpered a bit instead of full on hysterics like Friday night. Just put her down after her bottle awake, she rolled around her cot for 10 minutes and would usually cry her eyes out, but she is now fast asleep with no crying and no intervention. I expect its just a fluke but I like it. Hoping for better nap times this week!
As for the discussions I had with a few of you a few weeks back, I still haven't got a wrap or carrier! I saw a mummy carrying a baby on her back in a wrap the other day the first one I've ever seen and it looked like the cutest thing ever! Hoping to get one in the next couple of weeks! Thanks again for all of the suggestions.0 -
Hi Ladies
Its been so much cooler here today. Aiden is back in his room tonight as its 24 in there now. Lovely to feel a tiny breeze earlier too.
moneypenny - fab news about LO self settling, fingers crossed you have cracked it.
Nutella, hope you have a better night.
Not sure if anyone else struggles with your LO's room being too hot, as I mentioned, Aidens bedroom is the back of our south facing house so is baking hot. Anyway, one of our friends has the same problem and told us to pop a bowl of ice cubes or a bottle of frozen water in front of the fan - apparently it really helps. Havent tried it yet as it hasnt been too bad today but Wednesday is meant to be really warm so am sure I will be giving it a go.
Anyone know how Janinne is? XLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Morning ladies
Hope everyone had a good night - my LO did her best sleep ever! :T She slept from 8 to 5.30 with no wake-ups or dummy demands! :j I woke up a couple of times, once because I was too hot and then when OH's alarm went off, but still... I feel human!
Moneypenny, we don't have a cot wedge as she still uses a flat head pillow, but I've heard good things about them
Not looking forward to a day at the office - we don't have air conditioning and it gets unbearably hot. Might just have to have an ice cream at some point in the name of productivity
Have a good day everyone x0 -

Lo is still in our room (4months old) and we get the sun round the back and have no shade at all so out room at night is horrible! It's been 29 last week, I've had lo sleeping in just a nappy for fear he'd overheat!
Luckily for him his room is on the front so he may have to squish up in his cot some nights as I may be jumping in
Last night was the coolest it's been, 26 in our room, was nice.
I wondered where janine was, I hope she's okNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Hiya guys,
J/W Any advice on what to get a little boy for his year birthday? Probally £50 limit as we have got him some small bits but just don't know what to get him... anything that your child partically loved/perhaps even educational if possible at thier age lol?People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Freddie's just turned one and he adores shape sorters. He's got three. His favourite is the Fisher Price cookie jar one. They're pretty inexpensive. We also got a paddling pool from ELC for £8. You can fill it with balls and have it indoors if your boy's birthday is too cool for outside play. Walkers are pretty good toys for a one year old. We've got the vtech one. They're not particular cheap though but probably easy to find used ones. He also loves wooden bricks, trying to build towers, bashing them together so I bought some alphabet ones for a tenner from ELC."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Shakers and things are pretty good birthday presents, we like the amazing baby books as well and they are currently cheap on the book people, lots of good books on there.
Had an even worse night last night... With both little ones waking up screaming at 2am an ending up in my bedi had about a 4inch wide strip to try and.sleep in!
At 5.30 i gave up and came down leaving daddy and 2 toddlers snoring awayMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
