Hugs Moneypenny, its so hard trying to get them to switch their routines. How old is your LO again? I did CC with George when he was about 9.5 months, and I'm fairly sure others on here (Gilly?) did it too. I was lucky with G, in that it only took2 days for him to get it, and even then he didn't go totally batty, just moaned and whimpered. Makes me sound awful - "I was lucky, he only moaned and whimpered" lol but you know what I mean I hope!

I know there are studies saying it damages them, but I think that is more to do with leaving them to cry when they're teeny? I can honestly say that although it was hard at the time it was totally worth it - he sleeps through, I sleep through and we're both much happier for it, his mood improved drastically as he wasn't so tired from being up half the night. Anyway, I hope you can find a way that suits you even if it isn't CC, but thought you might feel better to know others have done CC and it worked.

Thanks lazy wife & katiechoc. We haven't had any problems today as she has fallen asleep during feeds (which isnt ideal but hey!) We do have a lullaby tune that we put on which settles her if she is 80% on her way back to sleep. But she will fight sleep until the very end, she can be asleep in my arms for a minute or two I'll put her in her cot she wakes up immediately and then can be awake for another couple of hours despite almost going to sleep in the first place. It's the napping that is definitely the issue, we don't get too many middle of the night wake ups. Think I'll have a google about how to get babies to nap as she was definitely not just crying and whimpering and it was horrible. I nearly gave in so many times but knew that would have been even worse in the long term though I'm keen to find an alternative, thanks for your perspective.

Edit: she is almost 7 months
  • Sorry cake I misread your post and wished Amelia to be better! I meant mollie sorry!

    Hi ladies

Welcome back katie :) pics sound super cute!

Cake - hope she is doing ok now?

It has been soooo warm today, its definately bothered A :( he has been miserable and we had to calpol him earlier as he had a temp - didnt know if it was heat or not but we were inside a air-conned restaurant so didnt think so. His bedroom is at the back of our house and we are south facing so it gets the sun pretty much all day - it was 29 in there tonight so we put the travel cot in our room, he is sleeping next to me now :) a more comfortable 24 in here.

    Hope the babies sleep well.xxx

    Hey ladies

Hope all the hot and grumpy babies get better soon :)

we had to go to a party yesterday at McDonalds for my friends DD... She had made loads of cupcake type cakes, which were blue  with loads of different coloured and sparkly icing... Needless to say the twins ate far more than was advisable (to be perfectly honest one is all it would have taken) and went completely nuts :( so they were still awake when I went to bed at gone 11 last night. Doesn't sound late but for me it is :o so now I'm exhausted.

Little miss is still hot and grumpy too. We need to get some more fans I think. Told OH that when they are selling them cheap in the autumn he is to buy about 6 and not listen if I tell him not to :rotfl:

    Morning all :)

Hope your babies slept better than mine! Terrible night here - LO didn't nap much yesterday (despite my best attempts), and as predicted that resulted in her being overtired and struggling to sleep at night. She was awake from 9.15pm until just gone midnight, screaming from tiredness and frustration at regular intervals. She's got a cold, which is why she struggled to nap yesterday as she kept coughing and waking herself up. Fingers crossed for today :o The fan is fab though - we're off to Argos today to get a second one for our bedroom too :D

Delain, I'm really dreading having to go to parties like that  Cakes really don't need to contain such ridiculous amounts of sugar - although I fully realise that my banana bread will never be able to compete with blue and sparkly cupcakes :o

Morning ladies, Mollies much better today, thanks for asking. Her temp was 100 this morning so lots better than it has been without calpol helping. She's still very perky and playing normally. And she is certainly eating as normal! Her nappies have been 'interesting' though

Think she must either be teething or have a bit of a bug. She's been a bit more sicky than normal the last few days too

Hope you are all managing ok in this heat. I'm lucky in that our house is always cool, thankfully

Moneypenny, we were always struggling to get Mollie to nap in the day. She would fight it as much as possible and get herself over-tired. She kind of got herself into the routine of napping eventually and not that long ago really. We are in the 2nd week of putting them in their cots awake during the day and leaving them to settle themselves. They don't make too much fuss now (I use the heartbeat sound on the cot mobile) and they are just starting to figure out it means sleep time. Saying that, it doesn't work on a night yet

    Have a lovely sunny Sunday

    Btw, they are 8 months

    Hi ladies :-)

Glad Mollie's temp is down Cake.
Sorry you had a bad night Nutella

We had our best night yet last night! A had a nap of an hour and a half yesterday morning, a twenty minute nap in the evening and then slept from 10:30 til 5 this morning! That's 6 1/2hrs! She went back down again after a feed too. Wow! Hope she has started something here

Have a lovely day ladies :-)
