Congratulations and welcome Sparkles87. Not sure what else you could try apart from maybe keeping LO upright in a sling/wrap

I've an appointment to view a nursery on Tuesday :( makes me feel down thinking how quickly time is passing.

Congrats sparkles, she may just want you, if she's only a week I would think maybe she's waking up and with being in a new environment it may be scary for her? Hopefully she'll calm down soon :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • Welcome and congrats Sparkle!

Does she settle at all when you have her up right? We propped the top end of lil miss' Moses when she was tiny as she was waking up screaming and it did seem to help her but it was just a case of trial and error with what worked. Hopefully somebody else will be along soon with some more suggestions.

Congrats Sparkle! And LO going 12 hours with one wake, that's good going. I assume when she wakes you're feeding her and then she won't settle for two hours? It could just be that, as she doesn't understand the concept of the wee hours of the morning, she just wants to be awake, held, played with or what not. Is she crying after the bottle? Is it an issue during the day? (Infacol doesn't work immediately btw and from what I've read it can often be more trouble than it's worth).

Sorry to bombard you with questions lol. Trying to help get some more ideas for you.

    Morning all :)

Hope we all had good sleeps? We had a battle to get him down as he was overtired but then slept till 6 which I am pleased about.

Mrsh2b - it looks heat relaed to me, try not to worry if the nurse wasnt concerned, although I know its so hard not to worry!! Love hos little belly!

Sparkle - welcome. It could just be LO is adjusting to the outside world and wants reassuring. Theres lots of talk over colic only appearing at 6-8wks or something, my LO definately had colic at 3wks and noone would believe us till a midwife was here on her last stop at 615pm and saw how he was struggling with his wind, so it can happen. See how your LO gets on though, it may pass in a day or so :) hope you stick around here.

Day off today so aqua tots and a food shop. Will try the park it stays a bit cooler too.

Hope you have a nice day sunshine :)

Dewi has had an hour nap after falling asleep on the boob but he's woken up still tired. He really seems to struggle to stay down (though an hour is twice as long as usual!). I just don't get it.

Edit: it might have something to do with the massive fart he just did.

Lol Bamama :) will he nap any better if you are out and about? Aiden used to settle better if we went for a walk or even in the car.

Hi everyone, LO arrived last Wednesday - difficult birth and still pretty under the weather but she's so worth it.

Quick question, she sleeps well from 7/8 until 11/12 then screams like mad until about 2am - takes a bottle and goes to sleep until about 8am. We've tried stripping her off, one layer, rocking, offering bottle, giving infacol, skin to skin. Is this colic or something else? Anything more we can do?

Congrats hun!!! It takes a while to get over the whole experience, just take it easy and give yourself time.
Charlie screamed alot those first few months. It seemed if he wasn't feeding or sleeping, he was screaming

If you've followed all the basics, then i'd just continue to make her as comfortable as possible, especially in this heat poor thing.

Have you tried keeping her upright for a while after a feed? Is she burping ok and bringing up the wind? x

Yes, very fond memories haha. We good thanks. He has another hospital appointment next Tuesday. Will get the results from his allergy tests, so am anxious to hear those. But otherwise all still the same, lots of coughing poor thing!
