Slightly random tip for little people in need of some cooling down... My LO loves frozen mango, and it cools her down in an instant. I cut up a mango, stick it in the blender and blend until smooth. One mango makes four-ish portions; I freeze them in tiny plastic tubs but you could also use ice cube trays. Take them out of the freezer a few minutes before eating. Yummy, cool and sugar free little treat! :)

ooh, not nice in this heat - itchy, itchy. But get it over and done with I say. Here's hoping she doesn't feel too uncomfortable, poor babe.

Well nurse at the drs couldn't say what the rash was just that it wasn't rubella, meningitis etc. however if I had of thought it was menigitis I would have been at the hospital duh!

She just said keep him cool, hydrated and if he seem not himself to come back. I feel a little bit more confident that its nothing to worry about.

I do have a question regarding poo (seems all I talk about on here is my babies poo) his two dirty nappies today seemed slimy, a bit snot like if you know what I mean, have you seen this before? Nurse didn't seem bothered but it was different!

The factor 50, it is not better than 25 or 30 but just ensures you do not have to re apply that often( depending on skin color. When u have a toddler who hates it, you will understand why it is a god send :D

Hi all, hope everyone is ok now its a bit cooler.

Marta, we are going through the exact same things this last few week, the girls just wont lay still anymore and used to be such happy, giggly babies on the changing mat. I give them a small toy to keep them occupied and helps a bit. Just make sure its washable as mine like to wipe their bits with it when I'm not paying close enough attention

We've been sitting the girls in a small paddling pool in the garden the last few evenings before bed to try and cool them down. Also put some plastic balls in there we got to make a ball pit. They love it! Mollie is so confident in the water, its great. We haven't been swimming in about 3 weeks cos hubbys shifts so really need to try and keep up with it

I also gave them frozen yoghurts to help with the heat. Just a petit filous each. Was kind of on the cusp of being frozen. They couldn't get enough :T Will try the mango one too Nutella thanks for that

The girls were at their granddads all aft while we went to the pics to see World War Z. 1st time we've been pics in a year! We used to go nearly every week before that. The afternoon went so quickly though. Cant complain..... They're at Grannys tomorrow morning and are staying the night there too :rotfl:

I did miss them terribly today. I do like the thought of them visiting relatives and being able to stay over and not getting clingy so was a bit surprised at how much I missed them even though it was only for 4 hours

MrsH, sorry cant help re the nappys

Cake, your girls are very lucky to have their grandparents close by - and hats off to them for having baby twins stay over :D Your post made me wonder when OH and I last went to the cinema... It was to see Slumdog Millionaire! I don't dare to think about how many years ago that must have been! And to think there was a time (in the days of the student discount) when we'd seen every film showing - how things have changed. For the better, I hasten to add :)

    Evening ladies :)

Re the nappies - after her first jabs A had a couple of mucousy nappies and I asked the health visitor who said it's common after jabs, when teething (due to extra saliva) or if she has a cold.

Regarding suncream, A's too little as all say not before 3 months and we're not quite there yet, but I've bought factor 50 as she's very fair and if her skin is anything like mine she'll burn terribly.

I had to take A for her BCG today. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her to have the vaccination (I've been chasing the midwife then health visitor to get it done) but oh, it was terrible! I had to hold her as though I was going to feed her, then hold her left arm steady whilst the nurse jabbed her. Because of the type of injection - needs to be given into the tissue just beneath the skin - it takes approx a minute for it to be delivered. So I had to hold her trapped, whilst she wriggled and tried to move away all the while screaming because it hurt going in. My poor little love.

Calmed her down, gave her a feed and she's basically been asleep all evening since though she's woken twice for a feed. I think she's forgiven me for holding her captive as I had some smiles earlier. The normal jabs are a breeze in comparison!

Hope all those who need them have a good night tonight

    Morning ladies :)

Well despite A sleeping all evening we didn't have too bad a night - up at half 12, then half 4 so not bad at all :)

delain hope that your little one isn't too bad with the chicken pox, but better to get it over with now.

It's cooler here today so my goal for the day is to clean the house before we go to baby group this afternoon. Let's see how A lets me get on with that. She's fallen asleep on me after a feed. Gotta try and put her down now ;)

Hope its a little cooler for you too ladies
    Have a good day x
