Hi all,
Been really busy but thanks for asking after us.
Katie - Noah has a hearing test on the 23rd July and has to go back to the paediatrician on the 7th August. Not to long of a wait.
We have been crazily busy with school meetings and seeing friends so I'm having a quiet day with just me and Noah today!
Supposed to be lovely weather at the weekend so considering getting my summer clothes on at last!:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012

Glad you're ok Sammie
. Enjoy your quiet day!
We've been for his pjs, really splashed out on a two pack for a fiver from Asda. Little blighter refused to walk in the shop though, he's been doing it a lot recently - if we're at home he runs around non stop but out and about he just whines and clings on to my legs. I thought maybe his feet were sore as his toenails are a mess, maybe his shoes were hurting him? But if he's in the park and I'm not holding his hand he runs around too. Think he's just an awkward beggar sometimes.

Oh my god I feel so guilty. Amelia fell off our bed this morning
She's fine, she cried for a couple of minutes and was then playing with Mollie and laughing as normal. Gave me the biggest fright of my life.
I cant stop thinking about how bad it could have been. I feel terrible
There's not a mark on her, no bruise or bump. Couldn't see from where I was how she landed
Definitely wont be turning my back for a second in the future:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
Oh cake, hope your nerves settle down! Lil miss has taken a dive off the sofa over a mountain of cushions when I got up to grab a tissue and it scared the life out of me but they're resilient little things and a cuddle fixed everything thankfully!
Nutella I read your post and kept saying to myself 'ooohhh I can't wait till.....' Then I read the moneypennys post and was thinking 'ooohhhh I'd love to have the time again....' And just now I've been reading the pregnancy thread thinking I'd love to be pregnant again - I really should just enjoy the now I think lol.0 -
Thanks DDB, I'll be watching her like a hawk all day just to make sure she's ok. We have 2 mattresses on our bed so its quite high
She was face down when I picked her up, Im just hoping she didn't land on her head as Im pretty sure she was face up on the bed
Just think, this is the 1st of many worries over the years! I'll be grey by the time I'm 40 :rotfl::j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
Thank you all so much for the advice and support - I read all your comments a couple of days ago but then didn't have time to reply as LO was screaming and needed to express before she screamed the house down!:D
I will definitely follow up some of your suggestions. We are trying nipple shields at the moment - but I think because we've been using a cup (because of advice!) its made her lazy and she will only suck for a bit...then just sits back and CBA! Will try them for a bit longer....
But also got teats coming for the pump bottles - I don't believe that if I start bottle feeding she won't go to the breast - I think if I keep cup feeding it will a. drive me mad and b. make her lazier!!!!
And....if you want a laugh....I ordered one of these...it turned up today....I am gearing myself up to trying it later...!!! (looks like some kinky S&M device doesn't it! LOL!) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Oh, we landed smack bang on the top of her head here, thankfully our doctors is at the end of my road so i went running down there with her and had her checked out - i had become that crazed mother in the doctors waiting room
Hopefully the grey hairs hold off a while yet!0 -
Haha ihatedida that is fantastic!0

Ihatedida I saw that a while ago and told my hubby it was on my Christmas list! I'd have keeled over if he'd actually bought me it. Would have been a help though haha
We used cups from birth too. The girls struggled to latch and we were advised to use them if we wanted them to BF once they'd got the hang of it. Plus we had to top them up with formula after they had got the hang of BF as they weren't putting enough weight on to make the midwives happy
It was so stressful, I felt like I was feeding them forever. An hour of BF then it seemed like an hour to get them to drink from the cups. They did become pros at it after a few weeks though. Although Mollie still lapped hers like a kitten bless her!
Forgot to say Hi to all the new ladies. Sorry, was all in a tizz and forgot my manners:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
Oh Cake, that sounds scary, but I'm sure she'll be OK. My LO fell off our bed once too (although she was a bit older) and it was terrifying, but she was absolutely fine
So, I've been back at work for just over 5 months, and I've finally had the kind of day off that I dreamt of before I realised that as a new mum, your 'day off' is in fact your busiest (laundry, cleaning, tidying...). This morning, whilst LO had a nap, I made a spinach rice bake that I'd been meaning to make for ages (very yummy - recipe here if anyone else wants to have a go). LO and I ate it together for an early lunch, and she loved it - even ate some of it herself with a spoonI then took her to a city farm for the first time. A very loud bird made her cry, and she seemed pretty uninterested in the bigger animals, but she loved the rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. Although having said that, judging by the size of her grin, her two highlights were: 1) running around the car park investigating leaves and stones, and 2) getting to sit on a seat by herself on the train like a big girl (I usually keep her in her buggy on public transport)! We also had a snack in the farm's courtyard.
Went past Mothercare on our way home and ended up spending £20, but got plenty of stuff for my money - they had lots of toys at half price, including things like inflatable paddling pools and outdoorsy stuff. Bought a giant inflatable ball, bucket and spade and a couple of other sandpit-friendly toys and a LeapFrog My Discovery House - a bargain at £7.49!
She's now asleep in the buggy and I'm eating icecream. It's still sunny and 22 degrees, and I've just been out in the garden and picked a handful of mini strawberries. What a fab day
Hope everyone else is having a good day too x0
