My little boy is doing really well but it still feels very strange that he is here and that, within a year, he will be calling me mummy. A nice strange though.

Don't bank on it! Freddie's almost one and he calls me daddy :D

Wow Gilly your LO has grown, Im not on fb so dont see pics unless on here! Know you say he is small, but he looks quite tall there? As in next to his highchair back anyway...maybe its the pic. Very cute either way :)

    Hope everyone is okay xxxxx

He's a smurf :p I think it's the angle of the picture, put it this way, my OH put a pair of shorts on him yesterday, but didn't even realise they were shorts as they were at his ankles :o

He is very grown up in the face now though, completely lost his baby face!

Edit: his body is very long in comparison to his legs too, but still small! x

  • Awww Gilly he's gorgeous!
Hope everyone is well and massive congrats to the new mummys!

Lil miss has been a right grizzle bum today, everytime she 'remembers' she has teeth she plays with them with her tongue and bursts into tears so I distract her and she's ok until she discovers them again - that's been our day pretty much on a 30 minute loop so I'm mighty glad she's asleep now and hoping she gets used to them pretty quickly the loon!

Re breastfeeding I found the first 4/5 weeks horrendous and only stuck with it because my oh and mum kept suggesting formula as I was struggling so much and I'm an amazingly stubborn and stroppy moo so refused because I didn't want to do what they said :o 7 months in i'm still feeding and am really glad I stuck with it - getting her to take milk any other way is proving a nightmare but we'll work that out soon enough x

My LO is doing something new every day at the moment. :D In the last week, she's started:

    - Putting her bib on and pulling her highchair out when she's hungry
    - Trying to put my keys in the keyhole in the door when we're about to leave for nursery
    - Trying to take off her jacket when we get home/arrive at the nursery
    - Trying to put my sandals on her feet
    - Trying to put her headband on (she just leaves it lying on her head)

My little girl is growing up :)

Thanks ladies :) Another thing she's been doing for a couple of weeks is attempting to brush her hair. But she's got masses of curly hair and hasn't quite figured out how to handle a hair brush, so what normally happens is that the brush gets stuck, and then she just sits there screaming in frustration with the brush hanging off the side of her head. Not quite as sweet as those other things that she does! :o

Ahh Nutella that is so cute, particularly the high chair and bib!!

Hope all are well. Just wondered if I was alone in feeling wistful (is that the right word) about the birth and newborn weeks? I loved every second of the labour despite it being difficult (by the way, I'm sure I've got rose tinted glasses on!) and despite writing a birth story down soon after and trying to remember as much as possible, I'm aware there are bits neither of us can remember. Then things just after the birth that I can't remember like when I was well enough to change her or change her nappy for the first time. I feel overwhelmed with (happy) emotion every time I think of the birth (cos it is so magical) but irritated with myself that its such a blur (despite this being obvious due to sleep deprivation).. I think I basically just want the first six weeks back to appreciate them and more importantly remember what the heck happened in them. Sorry thats a bit off topic!

I think it's great that you are so positive about the birth many people look at me like I'm mental when I say I enjoyed the experience. A lot of people don't have good memories due to one thing or another.

I understand what you mean and I feel the same, I wish I had not gotten so wound up about silly things like bf and routines and just enjoyed the new born days. I used to get so anxious whenever he cried I think my oh thought I was having a break down, now I just think it won't kill him to cry for 2 mins while I prepare his bottle etc.

Learn from how your feeling now and in the future live in the moment! All you can do I'm afraid! :)

I think there is a reason we don't remember most of it moneypenny. We block out all the rubbish stuff so that we'll do it again!

Nutella, super cute! That is all.
