Hi there Ihatedida, congratulations!
Post labour recovery does get easier I promise. My advice is to get cream for your piles (i use Boots own, ok with bf).
Good on you with expressing and cup feeding at mo. No experience with Tongue tie, but LO had to try a few holds before he would latch. Ended up with rugby hold for him to feed, then about 2 wks in suddenly I had a surge of milk come in and then front feeding was fine. Apparently if you've lost blood with labour then the milk isn't as fast flowing initially, so your LO may still not have enough flow to manage. My friend had bf person come out to help her, it sounds like it might be worth it. Also don't be afraid to squdge your b00b into a shape they cam latch easier ( I've big ol' ones and have to hold mine to make themore pointy at the end so LO can latch on. (TMi?!?) 8 wks on bf is still a 2 handed job.
Lastly as the others said, don't feel a failure if you ff. You've done so well to express for this long (i had to express 1st night and found it grim) slot of the important nutrition has been passed on. The thing you can be most proud of as a mum is that you did the right thing for your baby. If that's ff, that's ok. If it's persisting with bf then that's ok too.
Well done again, drink lots for the piles.

IHateDida, get some support from a breastfeeding group like La Leche. Or google to see if there are facebook groups in your local area. Keep persevering with putting baby on the boob, preferably whilst someone is there to check your baby's latch. In the meantime, expressing is great (I did so for two or three weeks). Please, please give it six weeks, just six weeks. If it's not got any better, then consider trying something else, but just give it those six weeks. Provided your baby's gaining weight (don't worry how much), she'll be OK and top-ups won't be needed.
Breastfeeding is hard for virtually everyone. I've never met a single woman who didn't find the first month very difficult. But after that things do get so much easier. I'm still feeding Freddie and he's one this weekend."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Wow, Freddie is 1? Where did time go Fluff? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Hello!
Hot on IHateDida's tail it is my turn to join this thread as I had my much wanted little boy 18 days ago. I had, on paper, a traumatic delivery - it really didn't seem like it at the time as I was so well cared for.
I am having to take it easy following my emergency c section and other problems that followed (thankfully nothing that involved my son). My little boy is doing really well but it still feels very strange that he is here and that, within a year, he will be calling me mummy. A nice strange though.0 -
Hello ladies
Welcome and congratulations to IHateDida and Snozberry!
Sunshine, hope the germs have gone and you're all doing well.
Delain, sounds like a rubbish night - hope you've managed to have a nap.
LO ate falafel for the first time today - she loved them! She's also starting to show an interest in eating with a spoon (as in holding the spoon herself), so she ate her yoghurt herself today - some of it even went into her mouthAt one point she got a bit frustrated (the spoon wouldn't fit sideways in her mouth), so she just stuck her hand into the bowl and licked her fingers. This is where bowls with suction cups come in very handy!
Hope everyone is well x0 -
Congrats snoz..
The appointment has come through for my lo to see the consultant because the dr referred us for his reflux, my only problem was his constipation on the staydown milk, the dr have us lactolose but his face went bright red for like a hour after and worried me.
I think he's getting teeth because his nappies are Poonamis, he's constantly gumming his fingers, his sleep is crap and he's beig grumpy.
So I don't know what I'm going to say to the consultant now because he's not constipated and seems to be doing better on a whole. What should I do?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
A's been using a spoon for about 5/6 months and still makes a hell of a mess. Some days he can eat perfectly neatly and others it's like WW3. Picture of him from last night

I'd still go Mrs_H. Consultants are very good, he is young for teeth yet, so I'd be inclined to go anyway and see what he has to say. xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
