Mrsharworth, I didn't have a chance before: my air cot bumpers are from safedreams, 100% cotton, breathable, soft and very slightly padded. There are different sizes i think, at least different styles and colours. mine is for cotbed with two sides with bars, instead of all four, but they do have bumpers for those too. Roughly measured, each bumper is 158 cm long, the first 13cm of each side has the Velcro with hooks on the top and bottom edge, followed by 49cm of the Velcro with the soft side, also in each end. Therefore, I'd say that you at least have to fold 14cm from each side, for up to 130cm of coverage. I guess the minimum length might be 80cm, as more than that and it would be folding over the fold without any Velcro to attach to. But do have a look on their site, they might have better explanation, measurements and sizes. I have one size covered from bar to bar, so it only has hthe gaps between the wooden panels and the closest bar, and the other side I have it only partially covered, I left three bars uncovered at the top because that way I can put my hand through whilst in bed and I have a gap to see her at night (the cotbed is right along my side).Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Morning all
Bit of a strange night here. She normally falls asleep within seconds of being put into her cot, but last night it took two and a half hours! She spent part of that time babbling away and having what sounded like a long conversation with her comforter (so I left them to it) and part of it crying and wanting a cuddle (so cuddles were provided). But - when she finally fell asleep at 10.20pm she slept through to 6am! :j No requests for dummies or anything. And I didn't wake up when OH got back from work, nor to go to the loo. So I've actually had seven hours' sleep for the first time in a year and a half! :T
Hope everyone is well x0 -
We had a better night last night, he went to sleep at half 9 and he only woke once at 3 So I've had a better sleep
I only had to put his arm back in once.
Marta don't worry, I've had a look on the website. Ill show oh and see what we thinkNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
I've been reading back and as usual I don't have much to add
I really don't want to go back to work. We discussed going back after 9 months but obvs can still take the year. I'm hoping I can do some work from home. I did when work was quieter and I was pregnant.
Mrsh2b, people will not stop giving you advice or being helpful. So far I've had advice on :
Baby wearing ("he must be getting heavy" "you'll hurt you back")
Buggies
Weaning ("has he taken interest in food yet?" At 10weeks!)
Breast feeding (even my OH wants me to stop asap)
"Having a break" (my mother joked that he won't go anywhere until he has to go to achool)
What food he should be eating (jars and bright green ice lollies according to MIL. I wanna baby led wean and have expressed this but everyone still mentions puree.)
Leaving him to cry.
Putting him down instead of holding him.
Even his clothing and what blankets I have on him.
Never guess I was 24 would you? It can make you feel like a child and completely incompetant... IT WILL NOT CHANGE so get used to smiling, nodding and then just doing what works for you! That's the only bit of advice I've taken onboard and ofc any real research, nhs guidelines and such (not that I've ignored the advice on here but... you know what I mean).
Enough ranting. Time to ask for advice... I'm thinking it might be time for Dewi to go in his own room. We have a cotbed all built, no bedding though. We've never used sleeping bags. Dewi doesn't self settle and has never been given a comforter of any sort. So... how do we do this?
P.s. Dewi can now roll front to back!0 -

Hey, I'm 40 and people still like to give 'advice'"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

It's never ending Mrsh2b (are you married now?).0

Reading your posts, I feel very lucky that I've never been given any unsolicited 'advice'
Sounds like an absolute pain.

I think a lot depends on your MIL. They're the ones. I love mine to bits but she doesn't have talk !!!!!. She phoned the other day at about midday. I was giving Freddie lunch at the time. Apparently midday is 'far too early for lunch!'. !!!!!!? He has his breakfast at 6, he's probably starving"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
